John Moblack, the Mexico-based experienced producer, delivers an impressive reinterpretation of Stimming’s “Keys Don’t Match” presenting a slower, heavier interpretation rich in atmosphere. In Stimming's own words: "It immediately beams me into a festival, a summer festival outside... I have like scent and smoke in my nose... It smells like humans but in a very good way, and I'm in the middle of the crowd stomping..." which paints the picture of how massive this remix is.

Lerr - Hummingbird (Gimérique Remix) [Sound Avenue]

Back for a fifth volume of his increasingly impressive "Hidden Arcadia" series. A trio of new original tracks are accompanied by remixes from Argentinean and Ukrainian debutants.

Opening "Hidden Arcadia, Vol. 5", "Leaving" has a vibrant opening that revels in rich percussive top-line and hypnotic bass note and groove. A strong beat acts as an anchor for a series of free-flowing melodic motifs to entwine, producing a rich sonic tapestry that erupts post-breakdown in trademark cultural references from Irmak's Turkish homeland. Continuing the intricate percussive groove, claves, claps and hats span the stereo spectrum in "Nowhere Land" as a smooth analogue lead motif adds a touch of intrigue. Ethnic vocal cuts enter the breakdown in atmospheric and rhythmic fashion, blossoming in the latter stages alongside an angular new motif. Emerging from a traditional house pattern, an array of percussive hits sparkles across "Walls" as a chugging, rolling groove emerges through a sequenced bassline. A reverb-laden lead line coruscates across proceedings with ease to add depth while a dynamic new rhythm makes its presence felt in the second half with rapid-fire toms roll and legato siren effect.

A new name to the Proton Music artist roster, Lisandro began his production career with his "December Rain" for Flug Lab's "Flug VA Vol. 1" in January 2018. A clutch of releases has followed for such esteemed labels as Hoomidaas, Dream Culture and Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas as the Argentinean now debuts on Proton Music. Reworking "Echoes in Time" originally part of "Vol. 2", the Lisandro remix retains the melodic character of the original by using the key melodic motifs central to Erdi Irmak's original and developing these with subtle new melodic flourishes at the breakdown. A strong new rhythmic framework introduces a dynamic flavour to Lisandro's interpretation in an accomplished remix.

Another new artist to Proton Music, Nopi is a modern musical phenomenon who sprung onto the underground house scene in March 2019 with "Lemanto" on Pipe & Pochet. Going onto achieve over 40 production credits in the subsequent year, the Ukrainian artist has gone on to feature on the likes of Kindisch, Nie Wieder Schlafen and When We Dip XYZ with a stunning array of original material. Making his Proton Music debut, a remix of "Nothing Lasts" from "Vol. 1" is an incredible new version that bristles with emotion and musical talent. A rolling percussive groove with shuffling hats provides the perfect backdrop for a sustained bassline to create a mesmerising backdrop. Changing the key of his remix, Nopi has developed a melancholic air that fits immaculately with Irmak's vocal phrasing, while a new coruscating string lead creates atmosphere in abundance as it swims across the left-right spectrum. Evolving throughout, new tropes emerge post-breakdown as themes from the original resonate throughout in a work of rare beauty.

New music from Erdi Irmak and remixes from Lisandro and Nopi have ensured "Hidden Arcadia" continues to reveal beautiful sonic landscapes.

Another debutant to hit the Particles roster, Deepshader reveals himself through his twin-track "Fragments" EP. Both originals and a pair of remixes complete a Moldovan picture.

A pulsating wave of sound immediately propels "Fragments" forward with dizzying power. Rich chord progressions and bassline prowess combine with ethnic vocal phrasing to create a heady melodic collage, while a heavy beat and lighter percussive cadence provide body-shaking groove. Heavily side-chained throughout, the result is a dramatic and striking work. "Sur" opens with whip-cracking kick, rolling groove and cleverly programmed bassline presence. Hitting its stride over a seven-minute duration, organic instrumentation meanders in freeform glory post-breakdown to create a mesmerising piece that showcases skill and craftsmanship in abundance.

The ‘twin-headed dragon' of Lanvary continue to dominate the underground dance scene with their uniquely crafted works, cooked up in their Moldovan production kitchen. Able to point to over 150 production credits to their name across a decade-long career, the duo have been frequent contributors on such notable imprints as Stellar Fountain, Mistique Music and Balkan Connection. Regulars on Proton Music and Particles, their "Venus" and "Everything You Feel" EPs for the former and "Micromegas", "Slingshot Ride" and "Leviathan" for the latter have consistently seen them creating a stir. Returning to Particles, the Lanvary remix of "Fragments" is thus an immaculately crafted affair that revels in glissando bassline dominance. Evolving in elegant fashion, phrases from the original ripple across the nine-minute piece in shimmering new cadence while a new arpeggio ripples alongside, mirroring the key change found in the bassline. A driving beat and rolling percussive groove complete a stunning reinterpretation.

Another new name to the Particles roster, Andrei Schirca's Nkoder moniker has seen him feature with a string of original and remix material across a ten-year history. Making his debut for Terminal 4 in late 2010, the Moldovan born artist has gone on to feature for the likes of Saturate Audio, Noise Dealers and Balkan Connection with a half-century of production credits. Moreover, his collaboration with Deepshader on "Twice a Sky" was a notable highlight on the "Da Funk pres. Deep Sessions 01" for Silk Music in early 2016. A Particles debutant, a growling bassline and cavernous sub-bass characterise the Nkoder remix of "Fragments". Filtered synth lines and pitch-bent stabs pierce the sonic landscape with analogue saturation while sumptuous pads fill the aural space with texture and depth. Elements from Deepshader's original echo through the remix but Nkoder's skill is to sculpt them into a new and immaculately crafted interpretation that erupts with raw analogue power across the stereo signal in the final movement to superb effect.

Two sparkling new originals plus remixes from Lanvary and Nkoder see "Fragments" coalesce around the work of Deepshader.

Talented South African producer Deep McCent has reworked Paul Hazendonk & Noraj Cue's classic track 'Story Of Something'.

'Story Of Something' was originally released on Paul Hazendonk's album 'Adapt' which saw the light of day in 2014. It remains to be one of the iconic songs of the album, not in the last place because of the contribution of infamous spoken word artist Lazarusman.

Deep McCent's rework fits perfectly in todays populair organic downtempo vibe. A quality injection of timeless deep house that does the original more than justice.
