In E.F.G., Oleg Szyszkin has created a production alter-ego that displays a strong sense of individuality in a crowded underground music scene. As he returns to Particles with a debut original EP, "Clockwork" finds the E.F.G. music machine in full working order.

Hailing from the historic city of Gydnia on the Baltic coast, Oleg Szyszkin is an artist who has continued to make his own history through his E.F.G. moniker for over a decade. Inspired by icons of the late 1990s such as The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim, a foray into trance music in the mid-2000s - mixed with the "deep basslines and techno blips" that he experienced at the famous Club Sfinks in Sopot - saw E.F.G. combine "two worlds" to create his own unique sonic identity.

A November 2011 debut for Passion Fruit Recordings thus saw an incipient production career quickly rise with a gamut of material for leading underground imprints. Almost a double-century of production credits later and the E.F.G. narrative continues to tell a story of a Polish artist resident at progressive house's top table. A regular on Electronic Tree, run by fellow countryman Tuxedo, a host of original music since March 2013 was brought into sharp focus with October 2017's "Cycles" album in collaboration with Neptun 505. Additional work has seen Stellar Fountain, Bonzai Progressive and Massive Harmony take up the E.F.G. story to compelling effect.

A trio of appearances can be found on Particles with two appearances on the "Winter 2015" and "Spring 2017" compilations, following an earlier remix of fellow countryman, Kacper Kostecki, in June 2014. Now returning with two new original pieces, "Clockwork" continues to showcase E.F.G.'s music. The title track, featuring the vocal talents of Plicherss, opens with a running Moroder-style bassline before kick and 808 percussive elements create hypnotic off-beat patterns. Developing steadily with open-filtered glory, delicious chord progressions soar across the aural background. A loquacious vocal sample adds weight to the track title at the mid-point before melodic elements and a grooved chord motif combine with bassline variation in the second part to create of work of impressive technique and vision.

Partner track, "Moonlight Figure", revels in deep bass joy and a rasping note reaching out across the left-right divide. A smooth chord progression emerges out of the low-end torpor before a shimmering arpeggio ripples across the stereo spectrum in dizzying fashion. Rising and falling with consummate ease as the track works its way across an eight-minute timeframe, a new counterpoint melody makes its presence felt in the third movement to create a new and vibrant sonic collage.

Two new tracks keep precision time and find the E.F.G. sound running like "Clockwork".

Sundays are all about Sunday Confessions, where I play Deep House, Melodic House, and Progressive House.

I do occasionally change the theme of my sets to keep things fresh.

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to all the DJs and producers who upload their music on Soundcloud for free downloads. Many people overlook Soundcloud as a platform for discovering up-and-coming talented DJs who dedicate their time to create edits for people to enjoy. This page is not only a platform for sharing music but also a space that supports and promotes talents, giving them the love and recognition they deserve. Music has always been a means of expression and communication, and it should always remain that way. Every true music lover starts their journey on Soundcloud, and even though there are numerous platforms to download music these days, sharing and reposting music for free keeps the spirit of music alive, in my opinion.
