As 2022 opens its doors, Izzet returns to Particles "With Hope". First making his debut over a decade ago on NewBorn Records, further work in the intervening years has seen the Russian artist feature on the likes of Liquid Grooves, Proton Limited and Clinique. A clutch of releases between 2018 and 2021 then saw him feature on Particles with the "Summer Goodbye" and "Abstraction Distraction" EPs, plus remixes for Pole Folder, Savvas and Rafa'EL.

"With Hope" is a powerful glistening progressive house offering with rich piano sequences and emotive bassline sustaining their presence throughout. Waxing and waning in laconic fashion at a stripped back breakdown, new musical elements come to the fore through muted synths and textured pads. A deep kick and rolling groove add to the aural melange in a smooth and beautifully arranged offering. Partner track, "Puncher" offers the same rich melodic framework, as reverse synths make their play against a growing bassline force that sits below in subtly incongruous fashion. Beautiful piano elements are introduced at the mid-point breakdown and into the third movement as a tight percussive groove provides the perfect accompaniment for the surrounding melodic elements.

Bangalore based artist, Weird Sounding Dude, has found himself much in-demand throughout 2021 with a plethora of music signed to a host of blue chip imprints that included Mango Alley, Clubsonica Records, onedotsixtwo and the behemoth that is Anjunadeep. With over 200 production credits to his name, the fast-growing Indian star now debuts on Particles with an immaculate reinterpretation of "With Hope" that captures the essence of Izzet's original. Transforming into a floor-filling gem that shimmers with percussive energy and subtle synth elements from "With Hope" original parts shine through in gated and filtered fashion to create a vibrant new track. A head-shaking rhythm section add weight and gravitas throughout in an impressive remix.

An artist forging a distinctive creative path with his blend of progressive house and melodic techno, Mayro has grown significantly since a 2016 debut for Renensanz. A raft of original material has subsequently found its way onto the likes of Lowbit, Siona Records and Traful, supported by a stellar cast of A-list DJs that include Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn, Miss Monique and Matan Caspi. Making his Particles debut, Mayro has created a sparkling rework of "Puncher" that carries the central melodic theme of the original while surrounding it in a swathe of new production material. A heavy kick and bassline groove provide gravity while an intricately programmed percussive top-line adds flair and depth. A filtered arpeggio from Izzet's track filters to the fore, providing familiarity as the track progresses into an evolving second half, while the dynamic rhythmic force creates a sultry and seething dancefloor powerhouse.

"With Hope", Izzet provides a bright and powerful start to 2022, perfectly supported by Weird Sounding Dude and Mayro.

Tash's Movement Recordings opens the new year by welcoming Weird Sounding Dude back to the label for his debut EP. As one of India's rising musical mavericks, Weird Sounding Dude has emerged from his country's electronic landscape as a premiere progressive house talent. Long a favourite of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Cid Inc, the Bangalore resident often touches on disparate themes and sounds, straddling the divide between intergalactic design and groove-centric hypnotism. With a career that now spans a decade, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Anjunadeep, Hoomidaas, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat Music. Movement Recordings has also been a landing spot for the scene veteran, with a contribution to the label's 'GLBLMVMT3 - Exploring India' collection marking his debut in 2020, a project which would lead to a 2021 remix of Not Demure's 'Aifos'. Now, as 2023 begins to take shape, Weird Sounding Dude returns to Movement Recordings with a two-track showcase entitled 'Fallen Poet'.

The title selection finds Weird Sounding Dude composing with a strong sense of rhythm and groove. Beginning with a smooth pulse, its smoky resonance eventually reveals a backbone of monolithic beats and thunderous bass stabs. Instantly seductive, it's this muscular framework which provides the vehicle for panoramic textures and dissonant synth blasts to work their magic, ultimately resulting in a resounding dance floor escapade.

Meanwhile, the companion piece 'Lost Ark' lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship, as Weird Sounding Dude reaffirms his ability to tip a dancefloor over the edge. Mountainous grooves and clever rhythmic co-actions underpin a fascinating blend of striking chord stabs, balmy atmospherics and muted piano's, the latter of which provides a heartfelt interlude, before confidently returning to the groove for a heads down finale.

The rapidly thriving onedotsixtwo label launches its 2020 campaign with yet another essential release, this time from the multitasking main man himself, Tripswitch, who has masterminded an incredible refreshing of his classic ‘Box Fresh’ track, having enlisted the studio skills of Emi Galván, Forerunners and Nicolas Rada, alongside him on remix duty.

“‘Box Fresh’ was a really significant track for me when it first came out on the ‘Propulsion EP’ in 2014. It was one of the first progressive tracks I wrote where I felt I’d successfully struck the right formula between my own production style, which was more rooted in epic, euphoric chillout, and an up-to-date progressive house sound.” - Tripswitch

The original track’s significance (represented by the 2020 Remaster in this new package) grew exponentially when it became one of the first Tripswitch tracks (after his remix of Seamless ‘Castle In the Sky’ on Section Records) that Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo really hammered in their sets and was thus pivotal in establishing Tripswitch on the progressive path, ultimately leading to the birth of onedotsixtwo.

With an ethos to seek out and feature the finest world-class talent within the underground progressive house scene, Tripswitch has teamed up with rising Argentinian superstar Nicolas Rada (who is making a huge impression on the scene right now) to open proceedings. This creative dream team’s ability to tease out the essential original mind-blowing beauty of ‘Box Fresh’ with their deeply delicious 2020 ReFresh is quite astonishing. By composing a magnificently subtle, tantalizing, soaring, new melodic masterpiece, they set the stage perfectly for this truly outstanding remix package.

Another Buenos Aires resident, the exceptionally multi-talented Emi Galván, brings his own unique vision to ‘Box Fresh’. Emi has earned a reputation as a kind of crown prince of uplifting electronic music and here he injects his infectious blend of bounce and funk to proceedings to launch the track to a higher level of energetic abandonment, juxtaposing irresistible melodic hooks with euphoric percussive flourishes to create an absolutely monstrous dancefloor experience. Emi’s remix has already been cited by Nick Warren as one of the biggest tracks of his DJ sets.

Arizona USA’s Brenden LaBonte (aka Forerunners) makes a welcome return to onedotsixtwo with his outstanding remix. A sophisticated interwoven blend of skippy percussion, meandering bassline groove and lush layers of hypnotic melody, create a marvellous drifting sea of tranquil beauty. Tripswitch - Box Fresh (Emi Galvan Remix)

The latest release from Clubsonica Records finds the label showcasing the 2020 edition of its ADE Sampler. The Amsterdam Dance Event has become one of electronic music's most important annual gatherings. One where a wide variety of artists, DJ's, event promoters and industry brands are showcased over the week-long event. In the wake of CoronaVirus, the 2020 incarnation will be a unique experience, with the event happening virtually, in an online or digital only format. The much anticipated gathering continues to be a testing ground for the fall season's biggest releases. Compiled by label boss Juan Pablo Torrez, Clubsonica Records presents the much anticipated 2020 edition of their ADE Sampler, with new music from (in order of appearance) Brian Muszkat, Mariano Favre, Mental Order and Tim Othy, Stae and Wabe.

Hailing from Argentina and leading the collection off is Brian Muszkat. The Buenos Aires resident has been rising out of his country's progressive music scene with support from Hernan Cattaneo. Now embarking on the most anticipated release of his career, Brian presents his latest studio creation 'Balder'. Beginning with warm beats and a well sculpted groove, its energetic prowess grows quickly. Waves of percussion and squelchy synth lines add a flair for the dramatic, as cosmic effects and hypnotic arps highlight the first act. The second of two breaks brings tension up through mind bending sonics, as modulation peaks and the groove drops for a commanding finish.

Providing the second selection is Mariano Favre. Releases on Balkan Connection, Dopamine White and Perspectives Digital highlight his discography as he makes his Clubsonica debut with 'Overthinking'. Tough beats, mountainous bass tones and rolling percussion set the piece in motion, as striking stabs and trailing effects encase the framework. Tense arps further the narrative, perfectly foreshadowing a spoken word vocal which captivates across the first of two breaks. Momentum builds as the second interlude approaches, beautifully offset by icy vocal pads, before a trippy arp builds to a sonic sizzle, perfectly segueing into a charged finale.

The collection's halfway point is marked by Mental Order and Tim Othy. Now making their much anticipated Clubsonica debut, they deliver one of their biggest productions to date 'Cantina'. Powerful, pulsating and full of intricate detail, the first act builds with a dynamic flair. Developing in waves, percussive flurries and electric lines fill in the framework, before an expansive break shifts the narrative into emotive territory. Impassioned chord changes and charming effects steal the air across the two-minute centrepiece, eventually giving way to a storming final movement.

Next up is Mexico's César Hernández aka Stae with 'Yibuti'. Enticing from the start, it's perfectly sculpted beats are warm and powerful, anchored by a rolling, free flowing foundation. Layers of hypnotic percussion are blanketed with hopeful pads, swirling effects and fragmented melodies. Emotion peaks as the main break unfolds, with a cascading theme and frantic arps eventually getting washed away in a wall of buzzing electronics, as a commanding drop shifts energy into an exhilarating finale.

Rounding out the release on a strong note are the Italian duo WABE. Now bringing their melodic sound to Clubsonica the duo put a bookend on the Sampler with 'Across the Border'. Boisterous and commanding, its momentum grows as punishing beats, astral arps and growling synths set the stage for a motif of soulful strums. Shifting the narrative, the framework then opens up for the theme to breathe and emotional response to rise, before a pensive break puts a cap on this musical gem. Tastefully epic, it concludes a brilliant ADE Sampler from Clubsonica Records, one where a plethora of label debutants provides a series of peak time moments.
