An artist from the Uruguayan capital, Javier Misa has been involved in the dance music industry for some twenty years. Making his Particles debut, Misa now provides "Emociones Sinteticas" with remixes from the southern hemisphere.

A DJ with residencies across Punta del Este and his Montevideo hometown since the age of 18, Javier Misa has energised Uruguay'a club scene with his distinctive musical profile. Performances at clubs and festivals that have included "I Love Electro" and "Sexy Beat" in Rio de Janeiro, and "Amparo" and "Zoff Club Campinas" in Sao Paolo, Misa's sets across South America have seen him share the decks with John Digweed, Jimmy Van M and Nick Warren. A production career has followed in tandem with work for such celebrated imprints as Baroque, Elliptical Sun Recordings and Surbeats, with his work licensed to a plethora of others. Now debuting on Particles, "Emociones Sinteticas", in collaboration with Damian Araujo, is a slick percussive affair that builds intelligently with stepped arpeggio sequence that makes its presence felt throughout the ten-minute track. Rising and falling with waves of dancefloor drops, a subtle pad progression brings a touch of tranquillity to an impressive debut.

Malaysian artist, Idham, is a producer who burst onto the underground scene in 2016 with his compelling brand of original music. During the past twelve months, the Kuala Lumpur resident has seen his work allied to such established imprints as 3rd Avenue, Hydrogen and MNL. Indeed, the "Karar/Badai" EP in November was a notable highlight for the latter. With collaborative work alongside f.a.f.a.u signed to Traum and BC2, Idham's "Akhir" for Particles in January 2017 was a welcome addition to a portfolio that began with a remix of Sapiens and Spring in July the previous year. Now returning to Particles, the Idham remix opens with strong beat and intricate percussive groove before evolving elegantly with clever reinterpretation of Misa and Araujo's original components, creating a work that lilts gently across its voyage. Building in energy post-breakdown the third movement brings "Emociones Sinteticas" to life with a raft of additional production material.

An artist with innumerable talents as promoter, DJ and producer/musician, Rich Curtis has been responsible for developing the club scene in his Queensland home, hosting appearances from such leading figures of Hernan Cattaneo and Anthony Pappa. Himself, a celebrated DJ across Brisbane and beyond, Curtis continues to light up Australia and South America in 2017. A notable production career has shone in parallel to a high-profile DJ career, with his work regularly gracing the catalogues of Replug, JOOF and Sudbeat, the latter accounting for the "Open Other End" EP in May 2012 for Cattaneo's imprint. Regularly featuring on Proton Music, the "Safety Thirst" EP was a noteworthy highlight as are remixes of Dousk, Silinder and fellow countrymen, GMJ and Matter. A trio of remixes for Particles in the past twelve months is now joined by a fourth as the Rich Curtis remix of "Emociones Sinteticas" blends dominant kick and distinctive percussive flair with exciting reference to Misa and Araujo's original components. A deliciously evolving affair, gated sequences, distorted bass notes and freeform melodies build to an intense crescendo in the breakdown, dropping away to showcase an array of Curtis production skills that brings a new vivacity and brio to the original track.

A pair of remixes from Idham and Rich Curtis have imbued Javier Misa and Damian Araujo's work with genuine "Emociones Sinteticas".
