A seasoned pairing, EANP have been powerful proponents of the Progressive House scene for a decade and nearly 200 production credits. Now making their Meanwhile debut, “The Other Side / Uncut Gems / Atoms” showcases a triumphant partnership.

Combining the talents of Ezequiel Anile and Nicolas Petracca, the Argentinean duo have been working together since 2014. Both respected DJs and producers in their own rights, they have performed behind the decks throughout their homeland alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nick Muir. Similarly, a sparkling portfolio has seen a plethora of original and remix material feature on the likes of Mango Alley, Juicebox Music, Reminiscence Recordings and Replug.

Joining forces with fellow countryman and legendary figure of Juan Deminicis on the opener, “The Other Side” is a chunky driving number that revels in a gently shifting percussive groove that forms a strong backbone for a series of cadenced melodic components to sit atop with majestic ease. Building a more intense head-shaking groove with every movement, effected vocal phrases add to the intensity while languid and unhurried pads add subtle juxtaposition to the dynamic dancefloor structures. The result is a stunning progressive treasure that is certain to find favour with the DJ elite.

Striding out on their own EANP continue the fizzing percussive urgency via “Uncut Gems” as shakers and closed hi-hats swing across the near 9-minute piece with club-friendly energy. A seismic sub-bass groove adds to the forceful character while Tech House characteristics shine through with angular effects and well-placed synth stab. A smooth arpeggiated sequence comes to the fore at the mid-point alongside a new melodic character as it extends into the third movement to create a hard-edged modern Progressive House jewel.

The final track finds “Atoms” creating a dominant rhythmic framework that subtly comes to life through use of a muted synth motif in perfectly metrical syncopation. A deep sub-bassline adds to the story as the track builds through its phases with swirling white-noise washes and whistling wind-effects adding atmosphere and a haunting quality. Dropping back into the devastating hypnotic groove in the second half, “Atoms” is full of atomic authority.

Taking the modern progressive house scene to new heights with its deep and tech influences, EANP have illustrated that the grass is greener on “The Other Side” with “Uncut Gems” and “Atoms” combining to make an impressive triptych.

An artist with a growing Meanwhile history, Mike Rish returns to the label with a 3rd original EP, this time with the “Akhnaton / Gröv / Cloudbreaker” triple-tracker.

A story that began in late-2021, Mike Rish and his “Beyond” EP ignited a spark that would go on to burn brightly amongst a galaxy of stars on GMJ & Matter’s flagship imprint. Already a regular on such celebrated labels as Kasey Taylor’s Vapour Recordings, Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music and Guy J’s Lost & Found, the Australian artist has continued to see his distinctive and mature production sound much sought after.

Now returning to Meanwhile for the first time since June 2023’s “GT / Shoreditch Funk / Reka”, “Akhnaton” is inspired by the Amsterdam club of the same name and host of Meanwhile’s debut label showcase at ADE 2023. Full of trademark character, the track is a pounding club floor-filler with white-noise back drop and chugging bassline intent. Full of mesmeric soundscapes, and cascading delays, the track builds in power as subtle melodies are introduced amongst the immaculately placed pauses that help ramp up the intensity. The result is a masterful affair.

Continuing the hefty rhythmic narrative, familiar tropes percolate around “Gröv” like a fine wine. Under a huge, throbbing backdrop of seismic beat and cavernous bass pattern, spine-tingling melodies float across the mid-range before coming to the fore at the extended breakdown. Adding to the sonic collage with a hypnotising off-beat chord motif, the track then drops back into the familiar form of earlier phases as it draws to its conclusion.

The final offering sees “Cloudbreaker” continue to push the sonic envelope with the immaculately crafted bassline extravaganza. Full of percussive intent with shaker-fuelled top-line, a richly syncopated melody captures dancefloor attention, held through a sustained bass phrase at the breakdown. Hitting its straps again in the third movement, the gargantuan groove and luscious melodic interplay break through in a stormfront of club vibrancy and brio.

A force to be reckoned with via another EP chock-full of skill, technique and craftsmanship, Mike Rish excels once more via his “Ahknaton / Gröv / Cloudbreaker” EP.

An artist with a long and distinguished production career within the broad Progressive House arena, Robin Thurston returns to Particles with his "Piedra Oscuras" EP. A regular on a host of renowned underground progressive labels since early work for Liquid Grooves and BQ Recordings, the UK resident has since gone on to see his work released through BC2, AH Digital and Arbor Recordings. 2017's "Cura Brochero" EP was a notable Particles highlight in 2017, bookended by appearances on the "Summer Particles" series in 2014 and 2018 with "Mr Kolotev" and "Sausalito Sunset". Now returning to the label for the first time in more than 5 years, the title track is characterised by a hypnotic groove of fierce metronomic bassline juxtaposed with harmonically-rich looped pad. Deriving energy via a strong beat and rapid-fire hi-hats, a beautifully meandering and free-flowing synth sequence provides a Kraftwerk-esque vibe. Evolving over its 8-minute timeframe a kaleidoscopic array of melodic layers builds through "Piedras Oscuras" to create a mature and evocative sonic tapestry. The richly textured pads and developing chord progressions of "Neverending" create a typically smooth and powerful sound. Combining his sonic palette with ease, Robin's skill and technique emerge with trademark coruscating melodies and grooved bassline backdrop. Hitting its stride in the latter stages, the driving beat and sustained bassline add to a majestic and powerful production.

No stranger to the Proton faithful, Dmitry Molosh has been a staple of the flagship label with a host of original tracks and remixes for the likes of Kastis Torrau, Andrea Cassino and Paul Deep. A 2014 debut for Particles saw "Teleport" showcase the Belarusian's production skills before remixes for Exoplanet and Valer den Bit followed within a year. Now, almost a decade later, Dmitry Molosh returns with a typically dance-friendly remix. Using elements from the original, he takes "Neverending" on a driving voyage of discovery with high-tempo percussive intent, bassline groove and dominant kick. Adding layers of additional production material, effects, melody and club brio, they are joined at the breakdown by the free-flowing melodic themes integral to Robin Thurston's work with a pulsating arpeggio adding vibrancy in the second half to devastating effect.

A more recent Particles contributor, Jesus Gonzalez has found a rising wave of success within the underground house arena since the debut of his OHMZ moniker in 2019. After appearances on Flug Lab, RYNTH and The Purr, December 2022 saw the Chilean release his impressive "Articulation" EP on Particles with remixes from NHAR and Wolfframm. A single remix of Chihaka's "Kupisa" earlier that year was another notable highlight in the OHMZ portfolio as he now returns with a deep and undulating interpretation of "Neverending". Intelligently using elements from Robin Thurston's track in looping and effects-laden patterns, the OHMZ remix is a stripped-back remix that rises and falls imperceptibly with its dominant beat framework and ticking percussion. Brim full of pulsating sidechain compressed waves, the OHMZ reworking weaves a delicate and magical story across its 5-minute timeframe.

Full of light moments and dark undertones, Robin Thurston is front and centre stage with his "Piedras Oscuras".

Serious Dancers  return to Univack one year after their successful releases on this label, titled 'Sabase Pahale' and 'In The Beginning'. Serious Dancers are ones of the most representative names in the Organic House music scene nowadays. This time they want to show their skills when they also make Progressive House music, but still loyal to their particular style, characterized by solid beats, energetic grooves, hypnotic and evocative melodies, and  cinematic  elements.

The EP is completed by the awesome remix from one of the most representative producers in the Argentinian Progressive House scene nowadays, and a close friend of Univack family, Kebin van Reeken.
