An artist with a strong and vibrant portfolio under his name, Pysh returns to Particles with his "Ballada" EP. Remixes from Argentina and Germany complete the picture.

A catalyst for a career in the music industry, victory remixing Booka Shade catapulted Pysh into the limelight in 2010. A full-length album for Einmusika followed as has subsequent work for high-profile labels that include, Traum, Defected and Get Physical. A remix of Rudy UK in June 2018 opened Pysh's account for Particles and we are delighted to welcome him back with an original EP. The title track is characterised by a heavy beat and chunky rhythmic interplay paves the way for a chorus of beautiful analogue melodies to weave a magical path across the eight-minute piece. Building throughout, counterpoint motifs meld with a central theme to wonderful effect. Immediately piquing interest with its rapid-fire arpeggio opening, "B.R.A.T." continues the rich melodic themes. A strong rhythmic bed provides an anchor for analogue sequences to revel in glissando glory as they build to a white-noise crescendo, before dropping back in to hypnotic arpeggio groove once more. Collaborating with fellow countryman, Sincz, a heavier chunkier groove combined with intricate percussive cadence keeps "Angelika" moving forwards with claps and effects. Simultaneously, a hypnotic melodic phrasing sits perfectly within the rhythmic framework as it evolves elegantly into a beat-laden third movement.

An accomplished musician, Matias Chilano, has been a regular performer across the clubs of his Argentine home with the likes of Nick Warren, Quivver and Dave Seaman. Regularly supported by fellow countryman, Hernan Cattaneo, Chilano's production portfolio is chock full of impressive releases for such leading imprints as Balkan Connection, Movement Recordings and Soundteller Records. A single remix of K Nass represented a superb debut for Particles in March 2018 and a second remix now sees Matias Chilano create a typically smooth offering. Wrapped in a crisp rhythmic hi-hat shell with strong beat and intricate percussive groove, a smooth array of melodic sequences interacts with each other, evolving gently in hypnotic fashion. Making intelligent use of Pysh's elements, muted free-flowing lines appear at the mid-point breakdown and into the third movement combined with Chilano's exquisite production work.

Renowned for his prowess in the techno arena, Christian Hornbostel has garnered support for his music from across the DJ elite that includes Pan-Pot, Wally Lopez and Stacy Pullen. A hugely experienced DJ and producer, over two-thousand credits sit next to his name for some of the leading underground dance music imprints. Work for Kling Klong, Set About and Natura Viva are testament to Hornbostel's technique and craft, while the "Ampere" EP for Particles provided a moment of melodic techno brilliance in July 2018. Now, reworking Pysh, the Christian Hornbostel remix of "B.R.A.T" bristles with mule-like kick and off-beat percussion, while a rapid-fire ostinato that has its roots firmly in the original, keeps energy high. Adding a swathe of additional production material, a spine-tingling breakdown provides a moment of melodic magic before the driving rhythms finds its place once more in the second half.

Both Originals are that cup of tea we like to drink in 2022 so it was an easy thing to welcome Filip to our aquarium with these two monsters. What started off being played by Sasha who played it right throughout his Airdrawndagger tour, soon became a highly sought after track unlike most others of 2002.  A spacial Progressive House groove controls the track which features the vocals of Saffron, formerly of Republica and also known from her work along with Tarrentella (DJ/Producer).

Sasha VS Junkie XL - Beauty Never Fades (Dark Soul Project & Mathov Unofficial Remix)

The latest release from Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Dmitry Molosh to the label for his debut EP. The Belarus based artist is coming off the best year of his career in 2015. Dmitry's modern approach to progressive music caught the attention of Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J, both of whom played and charted several of his productions throughout the year. 2016 holds great promise as well with forthcoming material signed to Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Beginning the new year in style Dmitry now presents his debut EP for Replug Records entitled 'Boa'. 

Dmitry's tightly constructed grooves and smooth rhythmic cadence were one of the underground's true sonic delights last year. The lead track 'Boa' stretches those boundaries further and might just be his finest work to date.  Anchored by a pair of offset bass stabs and distinctive kicks, Dmitry begins to take you on a journey through the dark realms of progressive techno. Mystical sweeps complement the electronic underbelly, before a wall of white noise reveals a tonal theme and rugged lead line. It's boundless energy carries it with ease into the main break, where a sequence of sonic decay precedes an impactful build, ultimately reigniting the groove for a stellar finish. 

The EP's second selection 'Vapour' finds Dmitry unleashing a large peak time creation that's full of unique design qualities. Bulging bass swells, trailing effects and a lone acid line set the piece in motion, while waves of percussion and a galloping groove lay down a mesmerizing vibe. As the first act peaks, indistinct vocals and grinding electronics converge for a psychedelic audio collage, further obliterating the senses. The tracks centrepiece is another highlight with its intense acidic build and heightened state of mind. It all amounts to another huge finale from the Belarusian artist, guaranteed for dance floor success.  

The release concludes with 'Heavy Machine', which finds Dmitry exploring peak time territory with one of his most techno inspired creations to date. Backed by the EP's most ferocious groove, it sits nicely alongside the previous two cuts as a more energetic complement. Once again Dmitry carves out a beefy foundation and scintillating designs, before eerie vocal elements pierce the air while clusters of claps add further electricity to the mix. The vocal storyboard continues into the break where the mystical surroundings converge for an amazing moment, making for an unforgettable conclusion to the release. For a producer that had an amazing year in 2015, Dmitry has certainly raised the bar with this three track collection. Already a highlight in many of Cid Inc's recent sets this is one EP that you don't want to miss.

Juan Deminicis is a very young and talented DJ/producer whose taste has impressed many lovers and spinners of dance music spectrum! His sets and productions are the perfectly melting of the funkiness of pure house music, mixed with the avantgardistic vibe of progressive and the energy of techno! He now lands at Sudbeats doors with a tasty 3 track Ep of goodness.
'Babel' is brooding melodic deep voyage, backed with plenty of drive and a moody vibe, whilst remaining firmly a dance floor monster. Tinkling melees cascade while effects turn them in to dreamy elements while the solid bass powers us along. 
'Ekos' is a beautiful warm dreamy slab of musical magic thats like a hazy summers day, swelteringly warm, but also oozing of coolness and sophistication. Subtlety is its key here.
Rounding things off superbly we find "Orbital'. This peak time eerie melody laden gem is full of power as its big bass paves the way, caressed with its haunting spoken word. Serious stuff!

Sasha : Scene Delete : The Remixes (Sampler)

The 115th release on ICONYC sees one of the labels most loved producer duos; Phraktal make a welcome return with their latest single 'Mindshapes'. Phraktal deliver a track full of attitude, punchy and driven, with its dark slant, yet tasty melodies, this beautifully layered gem oozes class and destined to do some serious dance floor damage, personifying producers on top of their game. 'Mindshapes' is pure dance floor gold. The release features 3 outstanding reworks from: Filip Fisher, Ben Shaw and Traveltech.

The first remix comes courtesy of Ben Shaw who is famed for his outstanding previous releases on Sudbeat, Mesmeric, Balance Music and Black Hole to name a few. His rework of ‘Mindshapes’ will have melodic techno fans rejoicing as he delivers a poignant and driving mix that will sure enough earn him praise from the leading lights of the dance music cosmos. The moody theme from the original is maintained and presented with a tougher and even more warped sensibility, which should wreak havoc on even the most discerning dance floors. 

Filip Fisher who has achieved an amazing level of critical success over the course of his career, supplies the second remix of 'Mindshapes'. As one of the scenes most talented and sought after music producers Filip has completely overhauled the huge original into a funky, wobbly, orchestral deep house mix for the ages. An irresistibly chunky groove is complemented with gorgeous piano accents, shuffling drums and panoramic, widescreen synths for what results in one of Filip's most unique and inspiring studio creations to date.

Traveltech’s tech coated interpretation has a poignant and impactful feel. Jagged sub tones and a profoundly subversive bass line that reaches rib cage breaking depths sits at the foundation. Draped with sheets of percolating effects a futuristic and deeply thought provoking set of tones bending chords wash over the composition which creates a rather daunting and ominous mood. The composition peaks with the lead chords warping and twisting their way to a momentous sonic conclusion. 

Phraktal's return to ICONYC is an accomplished piece of work that highlights, that they are true masters of their craft. Massive stuff that is not to be missed!

Part of the "Penumbra" EP in November 2016, the Lanvary 'double-headed dragon' once again showed its firepower with a trio of tracks that were full of craft and skill. Returning to the EP, "Manticore", now receives a full release with remixes from Europe and South America.

Describing his sound as "deep, emotional, dreamy electronic dance music", Mladen Jurosevic, has been involved in music from the tender age of ten before establishing himself through the Youngen production alter-ego. An accomplished accordion player, Youngen has acquired almost a century of production credits since a debut for KP Recordings in 2013. Bonzai Progressive, Mistique Music and OLD SQL have all featured the Bosnian's work while an appearance on the "Spring Particles 2015" compilation opened his account for the label. A subsequent remix of Rick Pier O'Neil in early 2016 is now followed by a second as the Youngen remix of "Manticore" delights with a deliciously melodic foundation that ripples across a nine-minute offering. A freeform riff and searing lead line cuts through the mid-range frequencies in acetylene torch fashion while a strong kick, bass groove and hi-hat urgency complete an impressive rework.

Operating out of Cordoba, in the centre of the country, Argentinean, Lucas Rossi, is an artist with an impressive range of achievements since an incipient career began in 2011. Resident of the "Bianca Espacio Electronico" club in his hometown, DJ appearances alongside SoundExile and Fernando Ferreyra help cement the Argentine's reputation with a raft of additional gigs across the country. Despite only making his commercial debut in 2014 with the "Return of the Sun" EP for Suffused Music, a plethora of work has been signed to Massive Harmony, Seven Spirits and 3rd Avenue among many. Making his Particles debut, Lucas Rossi has provided a chunky laid-back remix of "Manticore", making clever use of Lanvary's original components and crafting them in to a unique new interpretation. A glistening free-form motif shines above with texture layers of pads and white-noise effects, while a head-swaying percussive groove keeps all elements locked together with aplomb.

Accomplished artists in their own rights, the Mexican/Argentinean pairing of Uvo and Lautaro Varela, have been sought after producers, each with over a century of production credits to their name. With a Mistique Digital debut in 2012, Uvo has been a regular on the Balkan Connection label as well as Sound Avenue and Forward Music and supported by Cattaneo, Sasha and Digweed. Similarly, Lautaro Varela's work for 3rd Avenue, Stripped Digital and Mistique Music have been well received as Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and Jimmy Van M can testify. Centred around the "Dreamcatcher" EP for Movement Recordings, Uvo and Varela's work has also seen a remix of Dousk for Yin while they now make their collaborative debut for Particles. With a clicking, clave percussive groove in full effect, a rippling arpeggio line forms the foundation for a meandering lead line to flourish atop in delayed glory. An emotive bass line variant adds further interest as a raft of additional production material creates a unique and intriguing remix of Lanvary's work.

With three new remixes from Youngen, Lucas Rossi and Uvo and Lautaro Varela, Lanvary's "Manticore" continues to take on mythical and legendary status.

To remix ‘Arterials’, we’re happy to introduce the much awaited debut appearance on Juicebox Music, India's very own - Greenage. Hailing from the gorgeous beaches of Goa, Greenage Fernandes dived into the electronic music culture after being exposed to the early sounds of trance coming from his city. As the years went by, he became inspired to work on his own music after seeing countless artists perform their music. Fast forward a few years and after his recent break-through EPs on Stellar Fountain & Astrowave, he's quickly become one of the most in-demand progressive house producers. Greenage’s rendition of ‘Arterials’ goes straight for the jugular. Focusing on the infectious groove, while scattered melodic bits and an evolving riff, that was modified from the original, revolves around it.

Italian talent Alberth is next on Steyoyoke with a beautiful 4 track EP, titled ‘Solstice & Equinox’. This EP contains 2 impressive originals and two great remixes, one of them by the label boss himself, Soul Button. 

The Original Mix of ‘Solstice’ kicks things off with Steyoyoke’s classic atmosphere of relative tension, mastery and mistiness. Well defined percussive elements, silent and impactful drops and intriguing melody. Lunar Plane, whose remix follows, enhances its primary melody, giving it more intensity and complexity, taking it to another level.

‘Equinox’ comes at a similar mood with its gorgeous synth loops, creating a strong paced arrangement. It grows in intensity leading to an epic conclusion. So good that Soul Button himself wanted to share his impressions on a moody remix which elevates feelings and adds groove. 

This EP proves once more that Steyoyoke’s identity stands strong and that new artists seem to comprehend and connect to it, just as Alberth majestically did on this debut EP.

For its fourth release this year, Brazilian prog house and techno giant Not Another welcomes back their countryman Feemarx. Back in July 2016, the São Paulo resident made his production debut on the label’s “Outlook” compilation with “Hongg” and followed that up with May 2017’s “Balance” EP. His latest offerings, “Edge” and “Fringe,” evoke the melodic, hardware fueled sound that’s taken the world by storm in 2018. Remixing the former, Buenos Aires’ Andy Arias makes this EP an all South American affair. In his Not Another debut, the Santa Rosa native follows up July’s We Records three piece EP with another massive dive through time and space!

An artist with sizeable success across his South American home, Juan Deminicis has been at the vanguard of the underground dance scene for a decade. Proton Music is therefore delighted to welcome him back with "Life on the Moon".

Hailing from the bustling, cosmopolitan Buenos Aries capital, Deminicis sought inspiration from a host of leading names including Nick Warren, James Zabiela and fellow countryman, Hernan Cattaneo. Quickly finding his feet in the clubs of his hometown and across the country, the Argentinean became an established figure with performances at Bahrein, Fruta and Club Nina.

In tandem, a production career has been no less impressive. Over 270 release credits can thus be found against the Juan Deminicis name for a plethora of high-calibre imprints including Click, Lost and Found and Sudbeat. Indeed, the "Babel" EP was a notable highlight for the Cattaneo led imprint in early 2016 as was August 2018's "Umbra" for Dutch label, Click Records.

Supported across the clubs of the world by leading lights that include Guy J, Nick Warren and John Digweed, Deminicis has been a regular on Proton Music with a 2012 debut alongside Pablo Acenso coming in the shape of "Downshifting"; the stunning "Behind the Sun" EP coming a year later. Remixed by Guy Mantzur, Khen and James Monro has kept Juan Deminicis at the cutting edge of underground dance. Returning in March 2018 to remix GMJ's "Push Through", we are privileged to welcome Juan Deminicis back to the label.

The title track is a beautifully crafted affair that evolves effortlessly over its near eight-minute voyage. Strong beat and cavernous bassline, coupled with offbeat shaker pattern, create an epic bouncing groove that lays the perfect foundation for a swathe of analogue melodies to shimmer and sparkle in freeform patterns. Full of dancefloor credentials, delay and reverb create a spacious effect that truly gives rise to "Life on the Moon".

Partner track, "Tao the King" immediately makes its mark with huge bouncing bassline and techno rhythm. Redolent in white-noise effects, a sublime motif filters into sonic range as an analogue lead fills the airwaves with crystal clarity and an updated retro vibe creates a series of textured layers that resonate with Vangelis and a rich sci-fi scoundscape. Hitting its stride in the third movement with detuned arpeggio, the resultant track is a modern sonic masterpiece.

With two new tracks forming a new musical landscape, Juan Deminicis can be rightfully proud of "Life on the Moon".

The ‘Prospect EP’ is three-track collaboration between the acclaimed Nox Vahn (fka Fairchild), and British-born rising talent Marsh.

Opening with distant wildlife sounds, an unassuming intro gives way to colossal pitch-bending synths in ‘Prospect’. ‘Follow Me’ sees the pair collaborate with American singer-producer Mimi Page to deliver a dream-like arrangement, whilst ‘Serena’s Garden’ (as heard on Anjunadeep 10) concludes the EP with ghostly vocals atop a backdrop of field-recordings.
