When I started composing this piece in December, after buying Spitfire Originals Intimate Strings on sale, I had these thoughts: If this is what the future is going to look like, I didn't sign up for it. Although in my youth I read and watched a lot of SF films presenting both utopia and dystopia, I always preferred the bright future. However, what I see on TV, on YouTube and outside my window is starting to resemble the latter...

Despite this, I hope you like the piece at least a little bit

This is the first in a series of eight easy, acoustic, rather short and inconclusive tracks, which I’ve assembled by working on new and reworking on some old material adding parts and sounds. 
Will anything actually happen in the end? Unlikely. Definitely not here. Here it’s a montage of bare arpeggios in various keys.
I recorded this some weeks ago: sorry about the guitar sound, the string squeak is a bit too much; now, I hope to have fixed that investing in a better and more expensive set of strings.

Quantum Biofield

Proud to announce my first collaboration with folk string artist extraordinaire Don Jennings.  Don establishes the feel of the song with his strong rhythm strumming--almost the feel of a Celtic stomp, trying to get the mud off one's boots, but allows me plenty of space for my Requinto guitar that sounds a little like a mandolin in the center-left channel. Williams works in a team of workers preventing suicides. Without judging and with a lot of compassion he try’s to save lives but it is a tough job and sometime depressing. How long is he be able to hold on to his mission.

Musical notes: This is a variation on John Barry's theme for the 1971 TV show The Persuaders!. It is a challenge that my colleague and great composer Serge Smulders gave me. I could not resist as that TV show was one of my favourite those years. However, may I say that John Barry synthesized version of that time is now a bit outdated. Nevertheless, a classic is a classic hence revisiting it.

Donde El Gesto Habla (“Where the Gesture Speaks”) was born from an unexpected invitation to perform at an international animal-rights event. I wasn’t ready for the stage, yet the gesture—someone truly caring about my music and what it stands for—spoke louder than words.
The piece doesn’t run; it walks. Two even steps, like two hands reaching for each other. Deep down a low heartbeat holds the breath; above it, a gentle voice answers in fragments—one held word, then two whispers—climbing and descending in small steps. The wave swells, lays down, grows quiet again. And often, before it fades, it leaves a tiny falling sigh, like a softly spoken “yes.”
Dedicated to those who give voice to the voiceless.

Estate (1960, Bruno Martino, music; Bruno Brighetti, lyrics) began modestly enough as an Italian pop song. At the time, few noticed that it was far from ordinary. However, its sophisticated harmonics and irresistible melody didn’t escape the attention of jazz musicians. Now it is a world standard with performances all over YouTube. Still, there is no definitive version that draws out every bit of its potential. Except for possibly now. Listen.
