After Inner Power EP and five releases later, BDTom is coming back with a remixed ep called Mandarin Drive. The original track was released on 10 October 2021 as a part of the ep mentioned above. For this release number 45, there are solid four remixes and the original. In this pack we have remixes by Addex and new artist on the label, SpecDub. For Addex, it is his first remix in almost 6 years at the label, the last one was the highly appreciated Focus remix. As for SpecDub, he never released before on our label and with his remix, brings a solid deep house version but still under the original track tone.

Addex delivers two versions of Mandarin Drive. The first version is a classic sharp & cut deep house style, with micro elements that defines his styles. You can hear all the elements from the original mix, but as the track goes along, you can sense the melody too. The second version is a soundscape edit, an ambient/reprise dub techno style with more natural elements and melancholic expression. The SpecDub remix comes bold and strong with the rhythmic style. A few vocal touches along the way of the remix, the original sounds from Mandarin Drive are there, but the constant loop of his remix sends a hypnotic vibe. Besides these three versions of remixes mentioned, BDTom made also his dub interpretation of the original.

The Mandarin Drive (Remixes) EP delivers four variations from the original track and we get that from both Addex and SpecDub remix as well as the reprise and ambient versions both from BDTom and Addex. All the four re touches keeps the same note as the original, but the harmony and fluctuation in different shades & styles of deep house, makes the ep enjoyable.

We're back with three fun Tigerskin party grooves.
‚La La La Song‘ was a secret weapon for many Dj's when it came out in Spring 2011.
We've seen big smiles on the dance floor to this one. The ‚lyrics‘ just go ‚La La La‘ throughout the track, forming a simple canon. Originally the vocal was just recorded as example for a planned vocalist but Alex liked it so much, he kept it that way.

‚Jankowski‘ came out in 2014 on the short-lived Electronique label from Manchester and unfortunately stayed widely under the radar. It's a nice groover with classical strings and a cool break that leads you directly to a mountain pasture full of cows.

‚Anthem‘ is a brand new club tune that will shake your dance floors with it's super catchy percussion patterns, ducked cymbals and a 303 line straight from the alien ship. The vocal gives you a direct command on what you should be doing when hearing it: DANCING!

Kalita are delighted to announce the first ever official reissue of Billy Evans’ sought-after 1985 12” disco single 'Prisoner Of My Weakness'! Over thirty-five years since initial release, and long acclaimed by collectors, DJs and dance music fans, the time is ripe to share Billy’s music once more. 

Originally privately released in a small run on Billy’s own label Tee Records, Kalita’s 12” reissue single features both the vocal and incredible dub mix versions of ‘Prisoner Of My Weakness’, plus a brand-new phenomenal remix courtesy of Waxist, produced using the original multitrack analogue master tapes.

With original copies selling for triple figures on the rare occasion that they come up for sale, Kalita now deliver a loud and remastered 12” single for all.

Looky Looky is the new project from Jeffrey Sfire and Ian Clark, both residing in Detroit, Michigan. The pair met in the late 90s when Ian was performing as one half of Le Car with Adam Miller of ADULT. Ian also recorded under the moniker Perspects, and released on Clone, Ersatz Audio and Interdimensional Transmissions. Jeffrey has released a series of singles and remix EPs with Samuel Long as SFIRE on CockTail d'Amore Music and  Ultramajic. 

The duo released their 8-track debut album ‘Part Flamingo’ in 2016. All 8 tracks represent one body of work but are presented as 2 distinct concept EP’s: ‘Part Flamingo’ and ‘Nurse Coven’. They’re loose, fun pastiches of 80’s movie soundtracks with accompanying imagery. For the ‘Flamingo Boots’ EP we chose 4 songs from the album which the pair extended for maxi 12” throbbing dance mixes. Looky Looky describe the project as equal parts light and dark, a contemporary recasting of Italo, Hi-NRG and electro. The songs infuse bright ‘80s sonic textures with a seedy, sweaty thump. The Motor City duo is about a year into the project, but is already known for their hardware-heavy live set after playing the Honcho Summer Campout last year and the 2017 edition of Gays Hate Techno in northern California. 

All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. Each jacket features a collage by Chicago-based artist Nicole Ginelli of a Nagel-esque face with a mauve/grey color scheme with fuchsia and green accents. Also included is a postcard with notes and a photo of the duo.
