With over 25 years of experience behind the decks, Gabriel G has established himself as a versatile DJ with a deep passion for Chicago House and techno. His journey began with turntables at a house party, marathon dj sets over days, and finding the best music to bring to audiences. Since then has seen him perform at renowned venues such as Smartbar, burning man festivals, and almost every major city in the US Canada and Mexico.

Notable highlights in Gabriel G’s career include opening and playing along side everyone from Paul Johnson, Gettoblaster, Roy Davis Jr, to Tiesto, Donald Gluade, DJ Dan, and even Run DMC! His ability to seamlessly blend house and techno with acapellas and even some Pop music vocals, has un-relentless energy that sets him apart, captivating audiences with every set.

Beyond the decks, Gabriel G has garnered a reputation from doing seminars, teaching multiple students, working behind events as a sound engineer, owning a record store, helping other labels get off the ground and aspiring to push the boundaries of what we can do!

Recently, DJ Pete Phunk has been spotted spinning with RedLine, FreakEasy, C2E2, Exxxotica Convention,  The Tonk, Teknoir@Best Bar, No.9 @ Prysm, Half Baked Dispensary, Antique Taco, BASE Café, Zhou B Art Center, and many other local artist venues. He has a huge arsenal of digital and vinyl songs and genres including house, techno, EDM, anime remixes, industrial, synthwave, acid jazz, disco/funk, reggae, hip hop and many sub genres as well, setting an appropriate vibe and listening experience for a variety of crowds. It’s been a long and humbling road.
    It was 1984 on Chicago’s south side where DJ Pete Phunk began his music ventures. At age 14, he was spinning vinyl at high school dances and basement parties, like most DJ’s in the beginning, playing different styles of house (which had just begun in Chicago), techno, freestyle, hi-energy and hip house. A few years later, he spun a couple of local bar gigs until he attend college in ’90. Pete enrolled at Columbia College, majoring in broadcasting and communications and joined with the radio staff at 88.1 WCRX (a house\techno\freestyle format) where he made mixes for “The Mix At 6”, also as an on air DJ, and eventually ascended to a specialty show, sharing a 3 hour slot with Sunny B on the show ‘The Reggae Pulse’. The show was a huge success, playing a variety of island & reggae beats, and discussing informative community events and services. Pete & Sunny B had rare interviews with artists such as Shaggy,
Wailing Souls ( C.O.P.S. theme song ) and Shaka Demas & Pliers. This duo brought their show and the station to new levels and acquired 2 music awards at The International Reggae Music Awards held in Chicago’s Natural History Museum. Sunny B and Pete Phunk also hosted the show.
      In ’93, Pete became a resident DJ at ‘The Drink’ in Chicago (a huge multi-room club and music venue) spinning house, techno, industrial, disco/funk and reggae with his high school classmate, Mark Grant. The Drink also had concert events with Pete Phunk as the opening act for timeless bands like Ziggy Marley, Gin Blossoms with Billy Corgan, , War, Parliament & the P-Funk Allstars, and Peter Frampton. The Drink expanded to Las Vegas where Pete relocated as their resident DJ. The Drink in Las Vegas became an instant celebrity hang out and Pete Phunk was fortunate enough to spin private VIP parties for Sandra Bullock, Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, Peter Boyle and many others. With a passion for music and an expanding  his ‘west coast house meets Chicago house’ sound, Pete ventured into spinning at raves and underground events in Vegas. In ’96, he was the very first DJ to spin at the now infamous Club Utopia and had many other spots there with resident Robert Oleysyek and Mike Funkler. It was at Utopia that DJ Pete Phunk opened for DJ Keoki as well. Local DJ’s such as Duanne King , Shoe, Speedy, Mike Funkler, Robert Oleysyek and Pete Phunk started a still growing Las Vegas underground and club scene. Pete Phunk was also spotted with his then long braided hair and wearing a gas mask, in a cut scene on HBO’s ‘Taxi Cab Confessions in Las Vegas’. Returning to Chicago in the late 90’s, Pete had many recurring guest spots at Crobar, Shelter, Lizard Lounge, Red Dog, and the new Drink (currently Carnivale). He took a long break from DJing to become a father and raise his kids.
       Returning to his passion for playing music in 2015, Pete Phunk has dug up his roots and spins at clubs, café’s, outdoor events and raves throughout Chicago and also returned to producing his own music. Now a veteran DJ, Pete continues to experiment with music styles, new and old. For a truly moving experience, do not miss this DJ.

Jose R. Torres Jr. aka DJ Phatman, was born and raised in Chicago and began his affair with music in 1983, at the ripe age of 13. He embraced the sounds of his parent's priceless record collection. His mother who loved to listen to the soulful music sounds of Motown, R&B, Funk and Jazz, while his father listened to instrumental sound like the Cuatro. They both loved the rhythmic percussion sounds of Salsa, Merengue & Plena music from their beloved land Puerto Rico. These influences and his natural rhythm are the roots of the music he plays.

While most DJs began molding their sound by beat matching records, creating scratches to move the crowd, he decided to take another approach to playing music. When he began to develop an ear for music he had the desire for a crisper sound. Which lead him to concentrate on Mastering, Engineering and understand the audio equipment setup he worked with. Along with this concept and his musical creativity with a wide range style from his parents Puerto Rican Culture. It has been a catalyst to creating his incredibly organic sound and smooth blends has given him impeccable talent and proved to be a blessing.

Phatman as a young teenager 1984, Thanks to his Mentor Nelson “lil house” Torres Knew Phatman was ready for an audience. Since Nelson was already DJing in the teen clubs Nelson booked Phatman his first gig at “NorthWest Hall” one of the teen night club on the northwest side. Then in late 1987, Phatman was asked by his best friend JackMaster Jay and team Leader Sly “Hula Hula” Fox to joined and becoming one of the original member of the "Chicago Cutting Crew Djs Team", one of the hottest Northside DJ Teams at the time. After Phatman teen years and now able to play at Chicago Night Clubs. Phatman got his first big club debut Thanks to DJ Monna and FLX from 3DegreesGlobal " Some Call it house, We call it Home" Wednesday night at Zentra Night Club.  

Soon after Phatman Started his promotional Company Vibe Movement inc. which had him featured in several club and residency around Chicago Night Club like Club 720, Vain & Xippo’s, and guest DJ at Various and countless clubs throughout Chicago including Boom Boom Room night at Green Dolphin and Red Dog, Martini Ranch, Buddha Lounge, Tiny Martini, Crocodile Lounge, SmartBar, EvilOlive, Room2 and Arbella etc. Phatman held a live Thursday broadcast radio show on dogglounge.com. His contributions to Chicago's Music scene have finally given him the tools to create his next evolution of sound. 

When Dj Phatman is on the decks he likes to Educate by sharing his passionate style and playing for crowds will broaden his horizons. Phatman’s life experiences along with the musical instruments and compositions of different music genres have created the foundation for his love of House Music. His commitment to the craft, as well as his dedication and support to the House Music Culture, has made him a true artist. Now in 2019, his focus will be toward music production by making his sounds one of global proportion.

dj panye west comes from chicago, the birthplace of house music. 
He grew up listening to his two older brothers rocking the technique 1200s in his basement, as well as bad boy bill and dj rectangle mix tapes, and the original mixmasters on b96
he still plays vinyl
he spends a lot of his time learning new scratches and tricks..
he looks up to the squeeky nutts as mentors and motivators, and still thanks them to this day for guiding him to the music he plays today..
