hoi dit ben ik 20 jaar geleden. 18 lentes jong en een trotse resident dj van Now&Wow waar ik bijna wekelijks fantastische dansvloerherinneringen mocht creeeren voor en met 5000 peoples. het was een hele gelukkige zorgeloze tijd waarbij ik doordeweeks met super veel liefde plaatjes (voor de young ones onder julie: plaatjes = vinyl lp's) aan mede muziekliefhebbers verkocht en in het weekend diezelfde plaatjes met volle overgave in de now&wow draaide wat ook uiteindelijk mijn doorbraak in de rest van nederland betekende. heel heel heel mooi was die tijd..

omdat het vandaag 20 jaar geleden is dat mijn allereerste mix-cd Now&Wow#2 (die blauwe samen met de legend Joost van Bellen / Speedfreax) uitkwam, heb ik mijn mix uit 2001 op mn soundcloud gedonderd voor hopelijk uw luisterplezier.

hopelijk komen er bij sommigen van jullie weer fijne herinneringen naar boven (don't be shy en deel ze in de comments) en kan dit stukje van mijn persoonlijke (muziek)geschiedenis jullie ook al is het maar een piepklein beetje door de huidige ellende loodsen. 

ondanks alles hele fijne feestdagen gewenst en dat we maar snel nieuwe sterke dansvloermemories met elkaar mogen beleven <3

Ritter Butzke Club, based in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, celebrates their 8th anniversary. What once started as an illegal rave, is now established on the regular club scene. After all these years, it still maintains the charm of an ‘unfinished’ living room. “8 Years Lost” is a sound document created by resident DJs and friends to represent the vibe of the place and to share it with their listeners. The release comes with 14 tracks by celebrities like: Nicone`, Koletzki & Schwind, Klangkuenstler or Tigerskin, well mixed with tracks from the residents like: Baal, DJ Aroma or Prismode & Solvane plus some nice goodies from close friends who are also regulars in the venue such as: HRRSN, Kotlett & Zadak or Dapayk Solo. Markus Klee contributed a DJ Mix to the digital edition of the release.

For their third release, Akoya Circles looks inward and outward to the dancefloor, as label head Look Like serves up three tracks of laser-precision electro, and their most striking release yet. The South America via Zurich producer’s minimalist style forges deceptively simple elements together into highly effective arrangements. Across a trio of fluid and nebular tracks, surface dreaminess give way to irresistible rhythms. 

Giving the EP it’s title, as well as establishing it’s aquatic electro feel, Dreamwaterz itself bubbles away confidently, eventually dipping into weirder, deeper oscillations as it progresses, yet never losing a psychedelic, loose-limbed and ultimately party friendly feel. Following this introduction, Amnesia is a fat bottomed production with a lose, jazzy feel but plays its cards right for the dancers when revealing a crafty rhythm just below the surface, one that cycles effortlessly from breakbeats to surging 4/4, each time with a teasing quality.
