Syd Back is a multifaceted artist, musician, and music producer whose work transcends musical boundaries. His style is characterized by bold experimentalism, blending familiar elements with sonic innovations to create emotive and immersive soundscapes.

His journey began with Antiphona, a Christian band with original repertoire, gaining attention with the music video for the song "Carpe Diem," directed by Dimitri Kozma and showcased at Anima Mundi in 2013. In 2016, he released his debut album, Fuzzy Conical Helix, which combines geometric precision with sonic fluidity, reflecting his meticulous approach. That same year, he composed the soundtrack for the documentary Estranhos na Noite - Mordaça no Estadão, directed by Camilo Tavares and written by José Maria Mayrink, which addressed censorship in Brazil.

His second album, Points of a Closed Curve (2017), has a dancefloor-oriented vibe, inspired by his experience as a DJ in Rio de Janeiro. In 2018, after immersing himself in the European music scene, he released There and Back Again, influenced by indie rock and 80s synthesizers, with touches of Berlin and London’s music scenes.

Expectation (2021) embraces an elegant pop aesthetic, with standout tracks like "Luv" and "Isla Negra" (a nod to Pablo Neruda). In 2022, he released A New Horizon, a single evoking a nostalgic atmosphere, celebrating life and the importance of cherishing loved ones.

Water, Earth and Sky (2023) delves into atmospheric soundtracks and nature-inspired sounds. The 2024 single The Reason Why explores feelings of love and desire, with a captivating melody and introspective lyrics.

Beyond music, Syd has also ventured into film soundtracks. He contributed music to the documentary OAB 85 Anos (2017), celebrating the history of the Brazilian Bar Association. In 2024, he stood out with his work in Fique Ligado - Energia e Sustentabilidade (2018) and Água Para Todos - São Paulo Sustentável (2024), produced by Nexo Filmes for the São Paulo State Government, further expanding his presence in cinema.

In 2025, Syd released two singles: A Thousand Pictures, capturing the essence of memories and dreams, and Through the Window, A World in Motion, conveying the feeling of observing a constantly transforming world.
