Shaped at the intersection of genres, feelings, spaces and even eras, @spekkiwebu’s distinctive vision is an entrancing and truly innovative presence within the contemporary electronic music landscape. Years in the gabber scene and as a junglist in and around his hometown of Delft have pushed his sound in mind-bending, raw, and infinitely inventive directions, which deftly dances between mesmerising slow motion and breakneck 90s rave velocity.

In recent years, his shamanistic sound has expanded the minds of partygoers across Europe, with appearances at festivals and clubs including Dekmantel, Zeezout, Solstice and Crave to De School, The Pickle Factory, Het Magazijn, Elysia and Corsica Studios. Meanwhile, his own imprint @mirrorzone (founded in 2017) provides a platform for his deep musical introspections and inspirations to come to fruition.

Spekki’s indelible Patterns of Perception 86 is a deep, intricately crafted and truly mental trip, moving organically between textures and emotions both lucid and obscure. Over the course of 100+ minutes, we are taken on an odyssey into another dimension, where introspective, experimental textures unfold, giving way to urgent, yet profoundly psychedelic rhythms. 
Stemming from a period of intense experimentation, collaboration and inspiration in the studio, this mix also strikes a deeply personal note, embodying a spiritual journey of passion and emotion.

Patterns of Perception 86 - Spekki Webu

Woody92 (@woodyninetytwo) is a true experimentalist who operates at the fringes of the electronic scene. The Dutchman draws on his interest in graphic design to come at sound from a different perspective. His psychoactive mix of leftfield, techno and minimalism is rare and deep. He has built an international but close-knit circle of creative friends and collaborators who all work on fresh future music for his Omen Wapta label which he calls "a transitory playground for the imagination."

In this week's sublime and subliminal mix, you'll hear plenty of upcoming Omen Wapta releases and collaborations Woody92 has worked on with different artists. He says he has researched other parts of his musical self in this mix and tried to translate uptempo rhythms "that reflect a continuous movement into temporal realms - ancient fundamentals smudged and sculpted into a deconstructed landscape full of ancestral constructions.” It's a truly mind-expanding listen that opens up all new pathways.

Her journey ends with a dive into the abyss of Deep and Dub Techno, where she dissolves and reborn. Akira metamorphoses and evolves, taking the crowd on a mystical odyssey, each set becoming an initiatory journey towards the confines of transcendence.

Next up in our mix series is Shoal, a Dutch producer and DJ who recently relocated to Prague. Known for his hypnotic, emotionally layered sound, Shoal crafts deep, transportive journeys through trippy textures, modular synthesizers, and rolling rhythms. A core member of the ISOTOOP collective, he’s performed at leading underground spots like De School, Tresor, and Ratherlost. His releases on labels like Tikita, Harmony Recordings, Monument, our own Ute.Rec, and most recently Animalia, continue to expand and refine his unique sonic voice within the scene.

In this mix, Shoal delivers a 1.5-hour live set full of acid-dripping techno, spacey atmospheres, and heads-down minimalism. It’s a slow-burning, carefully building mix that captures the raw live sounds and subtle depth that define his sound. A live-set working just as much the mind as the body.

The freezer is full of all the meat you couldn’t shove down,
of all the bones you sucked the marrow from.
You choke it all down,
sticky white slime down your eager throat,
raw and bloody like you pretend to like,
your saliva thick around each gulp,
but it’s not enough.
You run to the slaughterhouse to drink directly from the drain,
to listen to the wet crude sounds of the bodies hitting the floor,
one,
after,
the,
other,
you close your eyes tighter but it never stops,
it needs more.
So you lay there and open wide,
offering your tongue to the upsetting motion,
you don’t want it to stop,
you are soaked red called blue,
frigid from the uncaring callous concrete you kneel on,
you were created just for this task,
nothing more than a flask to fill,
a flesh puppet to clobber,
a rag to wipe it all down,
nothing without all this commotion.
So you nod quick smile happy,
sanguinolent veal in hand like you were meant to be.
