It is common for artists to place pressure on themselves and to stick to one genre or style of writing. This could not be further from the truth in the instance of Henry Jones. A multi-instrumentalist, Jones is more than capable of creating many styles of music.   

The Liverpool-based Jones began his solo project in 2020 as a reaction to his isolated state. Confined in his attic room, Jones constructed a sincere reflection of his mind that would become his debut single ’As Soon As I’. It carefully married the melancholy of artists like Elliot Smith and wrapped it in delicate layers of innocent guitar, venturing in to the experimental realms similar to John Frusciante’s Niandra Lades and Usually just a T-Shirt.

His new single ‘Something About Rain’ proudly demonstrates Jones’ refusal to adhere to the borders of genre. 
Its pumping drums and bass give a nod to the danceability of artists like the cure and sisters of mercy whilst adopting catchy hooks and sweet harmonies similar to bands like Beach Fossils, Real Estate and The Drums.

Henry’s attitude to song-writing and genre fluidity promises an ever evolving catalogue of sincerity and reflection.
