Oui oui we're back with the second instalment of our Fruit Bowl Mix Series – this week with arms wide open we welcome Caravan and Lord Safari to the fold 🍒 These two Parisians have a very special and deserved place in Sydney's heart ❤️ 

Paul Jextra AKA Caravan has played a major part in forming the fabric of Sydney's nightlife for over a decade. We first crossed paths and broke baguettes down at the infamous Goodgod Small Club. 

He's gone on to release incredibly beautiful records such as 'Riviera' on Sydney's Planet Trip Records (@planettrip)and caught the attention of ears far and wide – word is there's a new one just round the corner via Planet Trip 🔮

Lord Safari is another formidable member of the Harbour City's balearic dance circuit. A true connoisseur of the finer things with an incredibly steady brush stroke. 

Once again there was no brief, no rules and no restrictions for this mix. A subtle but conscious bit of respite from the current state of affairs. We just let the two best friends do what they do so we can sit back and gnaw into this hour of chuggers like it's a room temperature block of butter.

we had the pleasure of contributing to the Kwaitour event @ Ohm Berlin in May . Belgium raised berlin based dj Gratts also played the same event and his set was recorded .
DJ Gratts has spent the best part of two decades lugging bags of records around Europe, and latterly Asia and Australia with increasing frequency. First biting the bug for good-time house, techno and disco in the late 90s, he honed his craft as part of the We Play House gang throughout the following decade, and began pushing out of his homeland around the 10s. In keeping the heart of the music in mind, Gratts ensures the feet are always engaged. Genres aren’t important, though: no matter what’s spinning, it’s all about the uplift, the heart and the freedom. His deep knowledge of groove-heavy, dancefloor-ready music affords him versatility - he’s as comfortable playing alongside Steffi or DJ Sprinkles as Hunee or András Fox. As well as an able selector, he’s a keen curator-collaborator: he produces music under his own name, as Icarus Traxx and with Eluize as Ca$hminus; he plays records with San Soda as Het Collect-Ief Deruyter; and last but not least with fellow Belgian dj Kong, he runs the ensemble label from Brussels .
while many records played in this set are South-African, probably just as many aren't, but were influenced by (his personal vision) of the kwaito vibe and aesthetic. So apart from house music, bubblegum and kwaito, the mix also contains non SA produced tunes that got played on SA dancefloors, SA themed records (e.g. Massive Sounds / Bobby Konders' "Free South Africa") .

After the original version of "Trau Dich" (featuring Leo and Camila) saw the light of day as a part of the Grips Theater Berlin: 50 Jahre compilation, Cashminus Music now presents you a few alternative takes to lighten up dance floors near you. 

Subsequently, Frenchman based in Sydney Caravan  - you’ve guessed it, on aime bien les Francais! - steps up with his electro boogie take. Mixed completely analog before recording straight onto tape, his jam sounds like something that would have been aired on Detroit’s “The New Dance” tv show in the early nineties.

It’s a low slung leftfield nocturnal trip into the tropical unknown. With downtempo lazy breaks, bleeps, etherial pads and tribal chants. Guiding you through the mystical rain forest towards the safety of the rising sun on the horizon.
