I don't usually talk about anything specific in my songs, but for once, and thanks to the positive influence of Carl, the creator of The Beautiful Dark, in this song I express an idea, a concrete feeling beyond my usual soliloquies or the usual non-committal pop lyrics. 1,500 Feet Into The Deep

Making the two hands independent from each other etudes are written. A good exercise is playing two against three notes or four against three notes in different left and right hand. Chopin made one in his "Methode de Methodes"
I wrote a short one myself studying at the Conservatorium.
