Moonbeam

I wrote this song a few days into the initial chaos we were all snapped into with the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.  As everyone and everything started to become more closed, I had to get on my piano and soothingly play myself back into being open.  While playing this I could feel a great sense that this session was not for myself, it was for everyone.  So, I present to you "The Age of Starshine" an emotional journey of delicate piano sounds and birdsong.  A portrait of our time under the sun.

I wrote the initial piano improv song last year in recognition of what I considered all the "Flowering" I saw all my friends doing.  Everyone is so creative and I wanted to celebrate that with a song!  This upload is the new version I created for my second album "Coalescence".  I improvised some strings and beats over the piano improv.

I wrote this song when composing music for a video project my partner and I were working on that dealt with babies.  Their curiosity and exploratory nature was infectious! 

I wanted a song that encapsulated the feelings of new life, exploration, and wander!  A song about going forth into being with no bearings and all curiosity.
