Magnificent Orchestration, Paul. The Guitar is so warm and Gentle, and the English Horn has a special allure for me. To me the combination, while playing around the outside, simultaneously reaches inward.

Home for Three Days

There are certain tones, colours, and intervals that work to make the Spanish world and guitar gel.  I think it comes from the Moorish influence. Interestingly, the instrument that really compliments it is the haunting sound of the  Cor Anglais English Horn, (which I get from Spitfire Audio Studio Woodwinds) . It's often assumed to be an oboe sound but its not.  It's more raspy. E minor is the perfect key for Spanish guitar but I tuned the whole lot down a semi tone just to give a bit more warmth and depth. Can you feel the character in this music?

“Piano Sonata No. 7” was completed in May, 2022 in Fairview, TX.  
The work is in three movement with only a slight pause between movements. 

Performance time is about 17 3/4 minutes.

This was a song that my friend Frederick sent me that consisted of drums and a synth that spelled out the chords. I added bass, guitar, and slide. I also mixed this version. Frederick is an excellent musician, and even finer person to work with. You should check out his page which is under the name Shukran. He was very accommodating and supportive, even when I wanted to change keys and tempo. He's a true gem, and I look forward to working with him again in the future. This was quite a stylistic departure for me, and I enjoyed the challenge. Hope it excites your ears!
