Leicester-based duo Murphy’s Law collaborate with London producer Guy Mac for ‘PASSION’, a bouncy DFTD release set to do major club damage. Comprised of brothers Sonny and Finn Murphy, Murphy’s Law have spent over a decade refining their eclectic, groovy mix of house, techno and soul, earning them support from major tastemakers Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati and extensive airplay on BBC Radio 1. Their style is a match made in heaven with Guy Mac, a house and techno producer who has supported artists like Nic Fanciulli, Solardo and Pig&Dan, also catching the attention of Jamie Jones who released Guy’s ‘Sonic Boom’ on his lauded Hot Creations imprint. Hannah’s trajectory throughout 2023 was signposted by performances at flagship events including Defected Croatia, Defected’s Australasian Tour and The Warehouse Project. In 2024, her collaboration with Sam Divine and Jem Cooke, ‘Cruel Intentions’, kicked off the year before Hannah appeared on the ambitious livestream celebrating 25 years of Defected with 25 titan DJs playing B2B in 2024. After a string of releases showcasing her more emotive side on the London house label, Hannah Wants now returns to the bass house sound she helmed for over a decade, releasing Ghetto EP on sister label DFTD. The first of two deeper, headsier cuts, ‘Ghetto’ offers relentless club energy, with deep, percussive synths that hammer away underneath expressive audio sampling. ‘Let The Beat Talk’ follows, featuring frequent Plump Records collaborator Baby Luck on cool vocals, with its hard and tough sound shaking the floor as high frequency synths bubble overhead.
