As heard in Sonic Legacy episode 5 (https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/970804) just as Sonic touches a chaos emerald for the first time and flashes of his future pass before him. This song is an intense, 7-count Drum 'n Bass track, to resemble the mysterious power within a chaos emerald, and was inspired by the various Supersonic battles throughout the Sonic franchise

Doing tracks with unique counts and styles is always a fun challenge, and doing a 7-count DnB was something I'd always wanted to do. I feel like it's a style that's best fit for boss stages and challenge modes. It's a test of creativity to be able to fit everything and make the music flow together. There was some experimentation with some instruments, playing around with LFO and filters to create a modern EDM sounding bass instrument that wasn't too overpowering on the rest of the track. The flute in the bridge was inspired by caragor riding in a game called "Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor", as this was a huge inspiration for executing a successful 7-count track.

Super Sonic fan, freelance audio technician, and former independent professional wrestler. Hi. I’m Paul Basila, but those who know me call me Pauly B. I’m just a guy chasing dreams, one of them being to one day write music for SEGA and Sonic Team. I started writing and posting music online publicly since 2006 on Newgrounds, where I continue to this day. Those of you who would have heard of me back then would probably recall the name Paul Stetich. I became a well-known Sonic remix artist by the end of the decade. Unfortunately, in 2010, technical and financial difficulties forced me on a hiatus that lasted SIX YEARS, during which time I would make the official name change in 2013 due to complications of not using my real name versus reality, Stetich being used to honor my mother’s memory, may she rest in peace. The name Pauly B was chosen for a few reasons, one main one being that it’s more realistic, and because my wrestling character is basically a frat boy from the mountains. I made my return to music in the summer of 2016 and have been continuing to remix and produce music to this day. My goals are to expand and reach as much of the Sonic community as I can, as well as achieve the dream. I’m not the kind of guy to give up either.
