This is the scene where Sonic and Tempest, having already set foot in Scrap Brain Zone, start taking on a horde of robots, and also where Tempest gets captured by Omelette Robotnik.

A lot of inspiration for this track came from various fighting games I've played. Every one that has a club scene, where the music gets very wild as soon as the fight actually starts. You could consider this aligned battle music, do to the fact that there was a softer and more dramatic feel at the end of the scene. It had been a while since I had played around with snare drums in the way that I did. I almost forgot just how intense they can make a song when the timing is right.

As heard in Sonic Legacy episode 5 (https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/970804) just as Sonic touches a chaos emerald for the first time and flashes of his future pass before him. This song is an intense, 7-count Drum 'n Bass track, to resemble the mysterious power within a chaos emerald, and was inspired by the various Supersonic battles throughout the Sonic franchise

Doing tracks with unique counts and styles is always a fun challenge, and doing a 7-count DnB was something I'd always wanted to do. I feel like it's a style that's best fit for boss stages and challenge modes. It's a test of creativity to be able to fit everything and make the music flow together. There was some experimentation with some instruments, playing around with LFO and filters to create a modern EDM sounding bass instrument that wasn't too overpowering on the rest of the track. The flute in the bridge was inspired by caragor riding in a game called "Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor", as this was a huge inspiration for executing a successful 7-count track.

The first minute of this remix/cover is featured in Sonic Legacy, Ep. 6 on Newgrounds. It starts off cinematic, as needed for the comic dub-over. What was meant to be a mere source turned into a full remix, as I did not want to waste this source, and always seek every opportunity to make extensions, especially when it comes to Sonic Legacy. After the scene from the comic dub, I decided to dive in with as funky of an electronic piece as I could, followed by a jazzy, rocky style of the original credits track

I wanted to be heavy on the brass with this track to show how instruments like trumpets and saxophones can be really versatile across music styles and genres. I also learned a lot in this track about lining up loops to maximize transition impact, a tactic I'm going to be using far more often from here on, as a lot of the crashes would appear on the 7/8 mark of the previous measure. This is also the most complex track I've done speed-wise, as it took three different project files to include every part of the Supersonic ending and Credits remix

I hope you guys enjoy this track, as even though it's background music for a comic voice-dub, I still took great care of this track, and I'm very happy with the results. It was great to put my own twist on a full length track. Thank you for the listen!

Super Sonic fan, freelance audio technician, and former independent professional wrestler. Hi. I’m Paul Basila, but those who know me call me Pauly B. I’m just a guy chasing dreams, one of them being to one day write music for SEGA and Sonic Team. I started writing and posting music online publicly since 2006 on Newgrounds, where I continue to this day. Those of you who would have heard of me back then would probably recall the name Paul Stetich. I became a well-known Sonic remix artist by the end of the decade. Unfortunately, in 2010, technical and financial difficulties forced me on a hiatus that lasted SIX YEARS, during which time I would make the official name change in 2013 due to complications of not using my real name versus reality, Stetich being used to honor my mother’s memory, may she rest in peace. The name Pauly B was chosen for a few reasons, one main one being that it’s more realistic, and because my wrestling character is basically a frat boy from the mountains. I made my return to music in the summer of 2016 and have been continuing to remix and produce music to this day. My goals are to expand and reach as much of the Sonic community as I can, as well as achieve the dream. I’m not the kind of guy to give up either.
