Sunset is a meditation on the gradually diminishing light experienced during a sunset. It is intended to have a calming and meditative effect as the music slowly fades. The composition consists of ambient environmental audio recordings; it gently unfolds with sparse subtle gestural moments, with the primary theme being sustained atmospheric texture. Any perceptible gestures are extended over a long duration, focusing the ear on the textural qualities of the sound. The ambient sound materials have been time-stretched to enhance their drone-like qualities revealing their inner detail. Several 'frozen moments' of sound were created and arranged to produce movement and flow through the soundscape. Alongside the drones there are occasional flurries of sound to signal changes and add variation. Throughout the piece the sound gradually reduces in intensity as it progresses towards its diminishing teleology.

The brief for the compilation was music made from electronics and noise and this track delivers on that promise
