marucoporoporo – an artist based in Ama, Aichi, Central Japan – announces the release of their beautiful debut album ‘Conceive The Sea’.
 
Born out of music created for an art installation in 2022, ‘Conceive the Sea’ is an introspective odyssey exploring artistry and existence, a work carried by thematic currents based on the passing of time and the cycle of life. With an aesthetic essence guided by the imagery of seawater and amniotic fluid, and their connections with origins of life and nurturing ideas of growth, ‘Conceive the Sea’ follows the project’s debut 2018 EP ‘In her dream’ as well as a recent remix for aus (Lo Recordings), the solo project of FLAU founder Yasuhiko Fukuzono.
 
Fusing off-kilter acoustic guitars with gorgeous vocals that undulate from shaded intonations to crystal-clear high-pitched illuminations, ‘Conceive the Sea’ forms ambient reveries with echoes of gossamer folksong, creating arrangements that seem to float and drift to oceanic depths. Eight tracks representing soft, faint yet subtly absorbing pools of sound, infused with delicately treated electronics. Impressionistic music as warm as the midday sun on closed eyelids; music that shimmers, like bioluminescent marine life, sparkling in the rain.

ピアニスト／コンポーザー横山起朗が、ワールドスタンダードの楽曲をピアノ・ソロで演奏。
フェルト・ピアノのようにやわらかで、静寂と気配をまとったピアノの音色と響き ー それは窓の外で降る雪の気配や、ふと聴こえてくる鳥の声とともに、静かに変わりゆく日常の微かな前兆（まえぶれ）を感じる音楽。

2023年5月に開催されたコンサート「Polish Pianism」での横山起朗の演奏を聴いた鈴木惣一朗が、その音色に惚れ込み、自らプロデュースを申し出て誕生した作品。鈴木がワールドスタンダード名義で発表した数多くの楽曲のうち、2020年のパンデミック以降のアルバム3枚『色彩音楽』『エデン』『ポエジア...刻まれた時間』から横山が選び、ソロ・ピアノにアレンジ。2023年の秋から冬にかけて1曲ずつじっくりと録音された順に、そのままアルバムに収められました。

自作曲でない故に、横山がこだわったのは楽曲の核となる情感、フェルト・ピアノのような親密な響き、音色が纏う空気感。まるで手紙のように1編ずつ届けられる音源ごとに移ろいゆく気配を損なわないよう、丁寧にミックスとマスタリングが施され完成した本作。幾重にも重なるブルーの淡いレイヤーがうつくしい手折りジャケットとともに、このアルバムを届けます。

Gapfield - Music for Scattered Light II

My first ever all-modular live set for the June edition of Modular on the Spot - PDX. 
I wanted to try doing something more rhythmic with more upfront melodies for a change.  The main melodies are primarily Make Noise 0-coast being sequenced by Monome Ansible and being resampled in the ER-301.  The drones are all from the 4MS SWN. Textures + wurlitzer samples are coming from a 2hp Play + ER-301.  All the reverb comes from via Audio Damage EOS + Æverb modules. Pamela's New Workout from ALM/Busy Circuits is providing all of the clocks + LFOs.
This live set was recorded directly to a 4MS WAV Recorder module.
