This one was soooooo damn fun. This is our set from Burning Man 2023 on Thursday night at Elementum's Midnight Safari party.

Dersu started the set off playing alone and was then joined by Kenny. It had been five years since we played together at Burning Man as the duo Peace In Noise, and it was an incredibly special homecoming.

Thank you to the Elementum Family and everyone who came and danced with us. We couldn't think of a better crowd to play to.

DERSU & PEACE IN NOISE | MIDNIGHT SAFARI AT ELEMENTUM | BURNING MAN 2023

It's 6 pm​ and the sun is low in the sky. The sea breeze is blowing through the open windows of the Mobli Beach House and Deep Jesus is leading us into the golden hour. The dance floor fills as his set begins, first slow and distant, then quickly building and couldn't be more close. You can feel the base deep in your chest and it's nearly impossible not to smile as the smell of the ocean fills the room. ​You close your eyes as the set continues, you've found that moment of Peace in Noise. 

This 2 hour and 38 minute set is from our second Peace in Noise Summer Series Party. We hosted Deep Jesus and had planned for him to play a full 4 hours, but then the cops came and refused to let us continue. For this we apologize, we had such an incredible time with you all, and we are so grateful that you joined us. We'll see you all soon...

DEEP JESUS - PEACE IN NOISE SUMMER SERIES

5:00 am - Thursday Morning - Burning Man 2016
@dersurhodes: As Gracie pulled out onto 9:00 and crept slowly towards the esplanade, the art car felt like a creeping ship headed deep into space. People stood huddled together, their faces hidden behind scarves and hoods and the mood felt a bit dark. I had found a track of monks chanting and layering that with Lies by @taleofus felt fitting. Recordings from the first successful moon landing echoed across the quiet camps and as we pushed onto the esplanade we "touched down" on the moon. 

6:00 am - First Light
Dersu: As the first streaks of dawn painted the distant sky, I started to play more hopeful music. I saw people on the top deck had started to dance and I wanted to match their energy, bathing the darkness in light while keeping it sensitive and thoughtful. 

6:30 am - Catacomb Burn
Dersu: As the first fingers of fire crept up the sides of the Catacombs the energy became excited and triumphant, I played Nana in a celebration of the morning.
Kenny: The morning became more and more beautiful as the colors filled the mountains and playa. I played Lane 8 as we drifted deeper into the desert. 
Dersu: I pretty much had tears in my eyes through this whole end of the set. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful this scene was. Everyone looked so beautiful, alive and present.

7:00 am 
Kenny: The energy on the art car as the sun warmed the playa was incredible. The smiles were contagious and I knew I wanted to finish the set with a track to let us loose into the day. We ended with "Learning to Fly" Flash Atkins Mix and both found our way onto the ground to dance with everyone. The mountains were bathed in an almost fluorescent gold and the sky was deep blue. 
Dersu: I'm not sure my heart could have been more full after this set. This was one of the most amazing mornings of my life.

Catacomb Burn : PEACEINOISE Sunrise Set

Eclipse is a journey that begins on the streets of Berlin with a track called Poison from the Katermukke label, then soars down to South America with a series of latin inspired tracks that we can't stop dancing to. We travel to the playa and then deep into the clubs of Istanbul before landing back in the US, inspired by an iconic Swedish pop star we all love.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to our set, we hope it brings you as much joy as we had recording it and we hope to see you on a dance floor soon.

Peace in Noise is the Los Angeles DJ Duo @dersurhodes and @kennethpaltrow

At the end of last year we had the opportunity to meet these amazing gentleman and host them at our stage during Pismocean​ Festival. It was safe to say that we immediately had quite a few musical commonalities. This week we are very happy to have them join our guest series and have thoroughly enjoyed the mix they prepared for us.

As well as being a performing duo, Peace in Noise acts as a collective and produces a variety of events in West LA, Santa Monica, and Venice including their charity series called NightCause​ which raises money for a charity of their headliner’s choosing. This set was recorded in Miami at the Island Gardens in honor of Luciana & Antonio and the incredible people we met during the celebrations. We played this set looking out over the bay and the city of Miami as a massive cruise ship docked, amongst new friends, dancing fairies, and robots.

We loved playing this set so much. Thank you to Roosterfish and Abbot Kinney Festival for the invitation to play, and to everyone in Venice who danced with us. The total set was six hours and this recording was the last hour and a half.

Peace In Noise: The feeling one gets when they find that perfect place on the dance floor, nothing else exists but you and the sounds that surround you. This blissfully meditative state is Peace in Noise.

Their DJ dynamic is totally unique. Kenny is a powerful sorcerer whose musical spells infuse a slice of soul into good times party music in a way that begs you to feel. Dersu, a designer by trade, possesses the uncanny ability to convert visual design elements into conscientiously composed sonic spaces that you can all-but see. Peace in Noise sets celebrate Kenny and Dersu as individuals. However, the way they work as a combined unit merges their unique personalities and tastes into a unified audio aesthetic that no one else can replicate. There is a palpable, intimate brotherhood present in the music they mix together and it is such a pleasure to experience. Watching Kenny and Dersu, it’s obvious how much fun they have when they’re playing together, even when that fun manifests itself as tight calculated set. Fluent in the universal language of music, their rich flow always takes you on a journey, inviting full participation, whether you’re experiencing them on the dance floor or streaming a Peace in Noise set wherever you may be.


For the past five years, Peace in Noise have been bringing quality parties to the West Side of LA. They are the resident DJs of NightCause, a monthly party hosted at Townhouse in Venice. All the proceeds of NightCause are donated to a charity selected by the headlining DJ of the month. If you’re in town during the first Thursday of the month, NightCause is the dance party you won’t want to miss.
