Music has the ability to create transcendent experiences. It can make us feel like we’re in touch with something bigger than ourselves, something otherworldly and often spiritual. Being able to experience a shade of that same sensation in a social gathering tunes us in a larger spectrum of people with whom we share the world. Perhaps something that we might need to relearn now.

Noah Lyas is the pseudonym for the ‘amsterdamer electronic music head’ and ceramicist Malii Yorks. Drums, rhythms and the feel of them are for him the most interesting aspects within musical compositions. "Also known as Malii Yorks, I'm an Amsterdam based artist who is passionate about making refined ceramics and composing deep rhythms within the spectrum of techno as a genre. 

This recording shows my love for deep percussive techno rhythms and was made in the period when I was moving to another house and therefore had no studio for a while. It was a warm week with high temperatures so I often sat outside on the balcony with a small controller recording mixes. This one contains some of my favs and some tracks of my own."

DSS 090 comes from the skillful hands of Noah Lyas, an artist passionate about making refined ceramics and composing deep atmospheric rhythms.

Growing up up in a house where music was the dominating factor. With two passionate parents who shared a large record collection with their children and with a father as a musician, early contact with different instruments was made as well as performing arts.

Later in life, around the age of twenty, after many dances in night clubs with friends, Noah started to make music focussing on soft percussive rhythms and lush atmospheres, finding inspiration in different kinds of music and sometimes even movies.

The cosmic wanderer Noah Lyas drifts through the void, gliding past jagged moons and frozen fire, his voice a whisper of unity in the chaos, preaching that even in the wildest corners of the universe - where stars fracture and realms twist - that all is one, and the one is all. “In embracing profound rhythms, we find harmony within ourselves and with the world around us, we will dance to the eternal song of creation.”, he claims.

Noah grew up in a house where music was the dominating factor. With passionate parents who shared a large record collection with their children and with a father as a musician, early contact with different instruments was made as well as performing arts and writing music. In 2020, his first EP titled “Before the Horizon” was released on Profundo Collective, which was founded with the aim of establishing an own record label and coming together as a collective to share the love for profound music and arts. Since then, his music has also been released on such authentic hubs as Oslated, Indefinite Pitch and Eterea.

The mix delivered is an extensive exploration of the deep, dubby and warm sides of Hypnotic Techno, featuring tracks of Noah Lyas’ himself and befriended artists alike, all mixed in a flawless manner to evoke feelings of a cosmic transport to the breathtaking beauty of the far outs.

As we slowly ease out of the warmer summer days, we are delighted to welcome Noah Lyas to the Embodiment podcast series. With more than 15 years of experience in making music and as co-founder of Profundo Collective, he has carved out a space for deep, hypnotic explorations that move masterfully between nuance and vigor.

Noah Lyas reflects on the recording process with striking authenticity:

“During the summer, it gets so hot in my attic studio that making music is almost impossible. Even in the evening, with the windows open, it’s hard to stay focused and attentive while composing; only warm, heavy ambient pads come into being, with crickets providing the rhythm.

This mix was recorded just after all those hot days, when the temperature was finally low enough to dance in the attic again, and to feel what it’s like to be active. It begins calmly, flowing slowly, until the first low notes become possible after which it spills over into rhythmic steps. Just like the transition from those sweltering summer evenings to the creation of this set.”

A fluid journey that rises gently from ambient depth to grounded rhythmic flow, echoing the passage from heat-induced stillness into motion, presence, and dance.

Ness began his electronic music journey in the late 90's and his evolving interest and passion soon encouraged him to start a dj career experimenting with various genres – from trance to pure experimental. With a background in sound engineering and many years of research and fine-tuning, he gradually developed a distinct personal style with a strong focus on atmosphere combined with hypnotic vibes. In 2007 he opened his own record store in his hometown in Sardinia (Italy) and 2 years later he founded his first label - Mono Records.

Deep sounds, harmony and homogeneity of notes that give a subtle and introspective pattern what Bosco has made in his set, demonstrating that music and passion are a combination that sets the brain and creativity in motion, food for the mind, the engine of emotions. From the cult of the most disparate club culture between Europe and overseas to the dj booth, the step is short: treasuring the experience on the dancefloor and not being satisfied with being only a spectator, but also a creator, Bosco began his self-taught journey. A continuous evolution of mental sounds, shapes and colors, rendered in this one-hour business card.

So we would like to tell you a story, a story about awakening. When the numb body takes shape in the world. When the eyes open and initially the light is too light, the tiredness is still (too much) tired. But then the groove presses, takes hold, "takes". They are stages, stages of life, stages of everyday life. It's like to brush your teeth in the morning. You, you are at the Komorebi. And, unconsciously or not, you dance. Let's Dance. Joeva opens the dances. Whether you want it or not, we dance. What if you think about it, at the end of the bottom, at the bottom. There is nothing better than dancing. This is his business card, this is what we imagine, widening our eyes, loosening our limbs. This is us, he will soon be dancing. Enjoy it.

So we decided to tell a rather special story, a story about the Komorebi Music festival throught an artist of a caliber: a touch, a unique sound. So far away, so close if you listen. An artist whose real name is nature. But, above all, an artist whose music shows mountain streams, of green stalks of grass, of the salt of the sea, of the dew of the early morning.

@myles-mac is perhaps best known as co-founder and curator of trusted electronic music platform and mix series @melbourne-deepcast, but his list of credentials stretches much longer than that. A fixture of Melbourne’s underground for the past decade, Myles has cemented his reputation as a respected DJ and curator through both Melbourne Deepcast and his famed Lost Weekend club nights. His eclectic and diverse selections - both as an individual DJ and as one half of the 90s house duo Project 95 (@proj95) - have meanwhile earned him space on lineups across Australia and overseas. 

While Myles, like many of us, has found a sense of calm in downtempo and ambient music the last few months, in his Patterns of Perception 75 he switches gears. Here, Myles seamlessly fuses some of his favourite fast, spacey techno and energised broken rhythms with moments of pure, atmospheric euphoria. The resulting hour and a half feels like a triumphant return to the club: offering both a brief escape from our current moment and a much needed reminder of the energy that can only be created by a dance floor in full flow.

2021 beginnen wir mit dem in Belgien lebenden Künstler Mike Deem.
Als Inhaber von Aarden Records ist er ein einflussreicher Teil der Hypnotic Techno Scene.
Mit seinen Gefühl für atmosphärische und dunkle Soundstrukturen, melancholische Acid melodien und Basslines baut er einen Spannungsbogen die durch hypnotischen Techno führen.
Er ist immer auf der Suche nach Erneuerung und nutzt gerne neue talentierte Produzenten, um seine Sets zu färben.
Mit seinem aktuellen Hybrid-Setup, das Traktor, einen Mixer, einige Hardware-Elemente und Live-Intermezzos mit seinem Tr-8 enthält, verschwimmt die Grenze zwischen Kunst und purer Unterhaltung.
Seine Mixing-Sessions geben dem Hörer ein psychedelisches Gefühl von Ekstase und Zufriedenheit.

Die in Tiflis lebende Ärztin Sophie Sharashidze entwickelt seit einigen Jahren ihre Fähigkeiten in der Zellfotografie unter dem Mikroskop.
Ursprünglich eine Zytologein, vermischte Sophie ihre fotografischen Fähigkeiten mit ihrer zehnjährigen medizinischen Erfahrung und führte zu einer perfekten Verbindung ihrer beiden Leidenschaften. 
Ihre Arbeit ermöglicht es ihr, ständig neue Zellen und Bildgestaltungstechniken zu erforschen und lädt den Betrachter ein, die innere Welt des Menschen auf vielfältige Weise zu sehen. 
Ihre Fotografien wurden erfolgreich auf verschiedenen Ausstellungen in Georgien vertreten, darunter drei Einzelausstellungen.

Happy New Year

In 2021 we will start with the Belgian-based artist Mike Deem! 
As the owner of Aarden Records, he is an influential part of the Hypnotic Techno scene.
With his sense of atmospheric and dark sound structures, melancholic acid melodies and basslines, he builds a tension arc that leads through hypnotic techno.
He is always looking for renewal and likes to use new talented producers to color his sets.
With its current hybrid setup, which includes a tractor, a mixer, some hardware elements and live interludes with its Tr-8, the line between art and pure entertainment is blurred.
His mixing sessions give the listener a psychedelic feeling of ecstasy and contentment.

has been honing her skills in cell photography under a microscope for the past several years. 
Originally a cytologist, Sophie blended her photography skills with her ten years of medical experience, 
bringing about a perfect marriage of her two passions.
Her work allows her to constantly explore new cells and image-making techniques, 
inviting the viewer to see human’s inner world in diverse ways. 
Her photographs were successfully represented at different exhibitions in Georgia,including three solo exhibitions.

In 2015 he followed his beat-soaked heart to the capital of techno, Berlin; where he still lives and enjoys being able to follow his passion.

In his work, he portrays his long lasting admiration for the deep analogous atmospheric and hypnotizing sounds.

She is currently working on creating her own deep and minimal sound. She has been a resident for Alibi Works, and co-founder of Bureau Noir collective in San Francisco.

t's time to FEED THE RAVER! I'm happy to present a guest that I wanted to have on the show for a while. Alessandro Crimi (born February 25th, 1983 in Feldkirch, Austria) is an electronic music producer, DJ and record collector based in Switzerland. Music always has been his big passion. It all started very early when he found some real gems in his parents’ record collection from the likes of Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, Pet Shop Boys or Depeche Mode which he really loved.
He is known for his deep and Dub influenced DJ sets, and many people say that he is a true specialist for playing warm ups.
Alessandro showed his mixing skills at the Harry Klein Club (Munich), Club Home (Amsterdam), Rohstofflager (Zurich) and Hive (Zurich), just to name a few. His style can not only be described as deep and dubby, he is also producing and playing all kinds of House music, Detroit influenced Techno and Electro, Ambient and sometimes also Hip Hop.
His own music has been released on various vinyl and digital labels like Sthlmaudio, Italic, Broque and many others.
In 2012 he has started the vinyl label 'Waehlscheibe' which he is running together with his friends.

For the 32nd episode of our podcast series, we are very happy to great the Berlin-based DJ Sabine Hoffmann.

Playing last summer at our Ambient open air Art Bei Ton x Waxing Phases, she brings us, through her Ambient/Techno set, to meditate between some atmospheric and cosmic vibes.

Sabine was born and raised in Berlin. She grew up listening to a diverse array of hip hop, soul, funk and crossover beats. Sabine discovered her passion for spinning vinyl around the early 2000’s, when she was first exposed to electronic music. She plays a deep blend of techno, electro, Chicago & Detroit house with nuggets of acid, funk and breakbeats rolled in.

But regardless of the style, you will always find Sabine playing vinyl only sets as she prefers the warmth of analog sounds and the classic feel of turntables. She has played at almost all the leading clubs in Berlin such as About Blank, Salon zur wilden Renate, Berghain Kantine, Griessmühle, IPSE, Farbfernseher, Golden Gate, Arena Club and the list goes on. Her international profile has been steadily increasing, she already played in Tbilisi, Paris, Baku, Yerevan, Krakow and Thessaloniki to name a few.

Sabine is the founder of “Frauengedeck”. It´s an event series focusing on an all female line up. She wants to support and present female DJs. She has held many events at different clubs throughout Berlin like Wilde Renate, Griessmühle, Farbfernseher and Beate Uwe. The first international events outside of Germany, were held in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia other country's will soon follow.

Since 2016 Sabine works at the well known OYE record shop in Berlin. She is also hosting a monthly Frauengedeck livestream, which is streamed from the OYE record shop.

She finished her Audio Engineering studies at SAE. Inspired by her gained knowledge, she started putting her focus on music production. The first result, a collaboration with No Mad Ronin is available on the label Zaijenroots.
