The sound of a cowboy from the year 2050.

G.W. Childs IV is a Fort Worth, Texas composer, sonic historian, and Electronic Cowboy — blending the dusty heartbreak of the American West with the shimmering, futuristic glow of synth-pop. At LucasArts, he served as Creature Sound Designer on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords — and was the voice behind Darth Nihilus, the Lord of Hunger himself. He also voiced Imperial Stormtroopers in the original Star Wars: Battlefront. US Army Veteran.

His sound caught the ear of producer John Fryer — who has worked with Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, and Clan of Xymox — leading to a creative partnership on COP International that Fort Worth Weekly called the "Electro Cowboy Dream." Fryer produced and mixed "Country Shades," singing on the track and appearing in its music video. They even ended up doing "Carol of the Bells" together — featuring Mark Hockings of Mesh, Chiasm, and an ensemble of artists from across the dark electronic world.

His sound is the sound of a nation rebuilding — a perfect blend of pedal steel, pulse, and prophecy.
