The Local Selection Mix returns this week with Fuaim resident and co-founder Becky. The young selector has provided an hour long mix showcasing her broad palette and knowledge for low end submerged dance music far beyond her years.

Becky is best known for her work with her collective Fuaim who she co-founded alongside Feargal O’Connell, Sean Murphy & Sean Andrews. The crew of young DJs host a monthly show on DDR as well as their Fuaim Mix Series and hosting parties across Tengu & The Bernard Shaw.

Having recently made her debut supporting Sharda, DJ Heartstring and local stars such as Dylan Forbes & Síofra, she is swiftly making a name for herself in the Irish music community. Her sets create a speedy blend through a variety of genres, often incorporating bass, breaks, garage, progressive house & everything in between.

Becky is quickly becoming one of Dublin’s fastest rising star’s, as the youngster holds no qualms in being feverishly diverse in her output. Her commitment to heterogeneity show’s a maturity for a DJ who has not fully flexed her technicality on the club circuit, but her late night appearances thus far have give dancers a taste of bass heavy stories that are yet to be told.

Becky’s contribution to the Four Four Local Selection Mix is a slippery ride through alien territories and trembling bass heavy manoeuvres. Slick two-step grooves, meet squelching electro rhythms and blissful trance soaked cuts for an amalgamation of everything glossy, gritty and profoundly bouncy. This is a seriously impressive mix from one of the most promising young DJs in Dublin right now.

While known for his fondness of electro and all things Detroit, Osprey truly finds his passion in anything that can consistently keep the funk. From the wonkier sounds of UK bass, to rhythmic analog breaks, what is most important for him is maximising dancefloor energy with music that stands out in a club environment. Importantly, to ensure progressiveness of his sound, DJ Osprey aims to look beyond the current trends to find a sound that is equally as immersive as it is interesting. Having co-founded the Naarm based Synesthetic imprint, he has been able to involve himself with some of Melbourne’s best selectors and has supported the likes of DJ Gigola, Kessler and Simo Cell.

The Procyon II team are very proud to bring you PRCN001: 'Wave Artifice' - Naarm local AJ Walker's second EP and the maiden release for the Procyon II label. Releasing May 5th 2023. 

AJ returns with bag of sonic goodies to take you a journey through the galaxy and back. With a propensity for driving low-end grooves, snappy percussion and laser-like acid-licks leaving no surprises, this release has seen him venture down new avenues of sound design creating nebulous pad sections and synth harmonies to lose yourself in on a dusty dance-floor in the bush.

3 recent cuts, 'Wave Artifice', 'Polybius' and 'Astra-Technique' showcase the last 6-months or so of AJ's trip into the esoteric and aims to capture that otherworldly feeling you might get while staring into the liminality of space on a clear night.
'Blue Shell Boogie', written in 2021 is an ode to everyones favourite N64 classic. Sitting dormant on a backup disc since and finally finding a home on the Procyon II imprint.

It's house, it's trance, it's a bit prog and it's Mario Kart 64 - it's Wave Artifice.

originally from munich, bias is part of the gibba crew which regularly hosts events in vienna. he has a favor for complex soundscapes and fast paced rhythms. this mix was recorded earlier this year, more influenced by the experimental side of sounds, yet not missing some clubby bits.  :—) expect UK wobblers and bassy breaks.
