Pericopes +1 is a new addition to the project initiated by pianist Alessandro Sgobbio and saxophonist Emiliano Vernizzi. In 2012, they met American drummer Nick Wight and reunited to record These Human Beings (2015).

With liner notes written by Dave Liebman and Enrico Rava, a buzz quickly spread throughout the international jazz community. After five successful international tours — performing more than 100 shows in over a dozen countries across the USA, UK and Europe — Pericopes will tour again in December 2017.

Austrian News ORF describes them as, “An original, stylish, well-balanced contribution to contemporary jazz”.
