Razor-N-Tape Reserve presents a very special new package of remixes of the band BaianaSystem, bringing together one of Brazil’s most exciting contemporary sounds with modern dance floor-minded production.

The standout track of their 2018 LP “O Futura Não Demora,” Água is a lyrical poem to the people of their native Bahia, featuring the legendary Antonio Carlos & Jocafi, with orchestral melodies, an incendiary vocal chant, and a traditional organic Brazilian rhythmic approach.

On the A side, Freerange boss Jimpster delivers two exceptional takes on the song, augmenting percussion and adding synth layers to create deep and hypnotic tribal house textures within a sublime sonic soundscape.

On the flip side Brazilian producer Diogo Strausz joins forces with RNT boss JKriv to highlight the symphonic and melodic elements with their vocal mix, and then go into dark and driving percussive electronic territory on their fiery dub. Just a few months after the release of MTT005 with Desert Island Disco, Mister T. records are pleased to announce their first compilation welcoming recognized and emerging artists from 5 different countries, united by their love of electronic music. The compilation is split in two sides : Musica Per Ballare - the first Volume - built around the love of Italo influences and Musica Para Bailar - the 2nd Volume - made with balearic aesthetics.

On the Adriatic side of the compilation, the label welcomes two producers already known by MTT followers as Sim Fossil was at the center of the 4th release of the label and Nicolas Kotowicz already contributed to the Paradise Edits project. However, the EP opens with Black Feeling “Stomper”, a modern happy Italo anthem with a strong classic bassline boosted by an overpowering synth choir.
The second track of the EP, “Coastal Night”, is a tribute to more sentimental Italo tunes and the first production of Nicolas Kotowicz. The precision and depth of Nicolas’ sounds make this tune an incredible tool for parties and podcasts.

Musica Per Ballare’s last track steps a bit aside from the classic vision of Italo with dirtier samples and Sim Fossil’s special spacy pads. Yet, “Zero Action” brings the compilation to an end on a perfect note with a banger track for clubs mixing Italo’s beauty with house efficiency.

"Allez les presales! Everybody’s favourite Parisian party fiends are back, polishing up another batch of patchy pound bin finds and not-on-Discogs delights for your next summer soirée. Putting their orange-eagle eyes to good use, the LYO crew have trawled the crates of Europe and beyond for this sunkissed set, working the scalpel to the max to pack the dancefloor in arms aloft ecstasy. 

Our party starts with the kwaito groove of “Avidio””, a killer bit of late 80’s Afro-action boasting synth marimba, alien bass blasts and life affirming vocal chants. Not only is this cut moving in the ants-in-your-pants/dancing-like-a-madman sense, but its Sting-on-safari emotion and clarinet solo could bring a tear to a glass eye.

Cartwheeling between aspirational jazz-funk and afro-cosmic, ‘Yanga Mbiwaa’ makes its way to the heart of the party like a bewildered Parisian at an Ivorian wedding. As tumbling toms rumble like thunder on the Serengeti, an oddball exotica chant encourages the nearby wildlife to shake a tail-feather to the Club Tropicana guitars and buzzing synthbass.

Last but not least comes ‘Autoradio’, a very well mannered monsieur living the French highlife by the sea and sun of the Mediterranean coast. Effervescent Afrobeat guitars and swooning sax dance over a rolling rhythm section of buoyant bass and 80s percussion, while a spoken vocal drawls in your direction and the girls ask if you’re ok. It’s only when the pinging, ringing, madly modulated bass breakdown bounds through your surroundings that you’ll wonder who slipped what in your drink…"

Here after a long time the first EP release on Best Record containing new unreleased music. Afrodesia project born from a close collaboration between Periodica Records and Best Record featuring @mysticjungle & @mannywhodamanny.
Afrodesia took inspiration from the italian afro-movement that lasted for few years during mid-eighties especially from those songs produced at the legendary Les Folies Studios in Milan. Afrodesia sounds balearic boogie afro and cosmic with heavy use of original past synths and drum machines programmed and played by Dario di Pace, Raffaele Arcella and real acoustic instruments thanks to the musicians : Giulio Neri (Tenor Saxophone and vocals), Andrea Farias (Guitar), Davide Di Sauro (Bass) and the late George Aghedo (Percussion).

Dance for Relief is a way to use our music to help raise funds for causes that we are passionate about. The second release in the series is a compilation of edits, remixes and secret weapons from various friends, with Volume 2 focusing on summery, festival-ready house sounds.

As before all proceeds raised from this release will go straight to Direct Relief (directrelief.org), a charity whose mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies, and who are doing great work to ensure that protective gear and critical care medications get to as many health workers as possible. Their work continues to be particularly important in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Finally, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the artists involved who have given their skills and time during a difficult period to help make this release happen, in support of a worthy cause.
