Demure Dubcast #20 - Miroir

Welcome to Episode 142 on Poisonoise Music with this session coming in from French based artist David Potiron aka Miroir.
David has had his recent mixes up on some very nice and interesting labels recently,  and is a DJ that i have been keeping a close eye on.     He definitely seems to have a very "crossbreed" sound going on which really appeals to me as it blends deep / dub / techno and minimal tracks along the way.      
This set is yet another example of this sound and takes the listener on a wonderful electronic journey.

"Difficult to stay in a style when you like the mixture

the same mix, a little crazy surely but what a pleasure

Here is a recording from the up and coming AZA recorded at Midwest Freaks last December in Madison, where IT, Intellephunk and Remain in Night united for a secret warehouse party. How can you explain being lost in the Midwest and spending all night with non stop rave alchemy in a secret warehouse? This type of thing really fills you with hope for the future. 

AZA is techno as a living being. She was born in SF to parents who had immigrated from Trinidad and Tobago of the West Indies. She grew up within music, from the music of the Caribbean (ranging from Dub and Reggae to Calypso) to the sounds of Jazz and Funk, which led her to singing in operas resulting in a college scholarship for voice. Her greatest revelation came when her mother took her to Movement and she experienced techno. She says, “I feel blissful when I create and play techno. It takes me into inner space travel. It is a place where I feel safe. The possibilities feel so endless in my techno explorations.” Experience that techno bliss with this moment of AZA at Midwest Freaks.

Welcome to Miao International podcast series with our new guest Yax from Australia. 
Yax is a techno DJ from Adelaide, Australia drawing influence from the likes of artists such as DVS1, Jeff Mills, and Setaoc Mass. His style is continuously evolving throughout the years, but he maintains a focus on deep, groovy, hypnotic, and minimal techno, as he takes inspiration from the 90s and early 00s era, while still adding a modern twist to his sets. 

Whilst maintaining a presence in the scene in Adelaide by organizing his first Yax Presents rave in March and recently his first 'Paranoia' night at Sugar Night Club, Yax also curates a weekly podcast series called Yax Invites, which began in 2021 with the aim of showcasing talent from around the world with an emphasis on extended techno mixes. Be sure to check it out on his Soundcloud page.

For his mix for Miao Music he kept a steady groove of hypnotic techno at a nice rolling fast pace for the listener. It's a sound that he's been attracted to lately as he's been playing more peak hour and closing sets around Adelaide.
