Having been one of his biggest festival tunes in the summer of 2014, the Luxxury mix of Greg Wilson’s 'Summer Came My Way' - which originally surfaced on last year’s 'Schooled In The Classics' 12” - was put on the back burner throughout the winter in readiness for a full 2015 release. 

Given the fact it's become a firm seasonal favourite for Greg, we've decided to upload an ambient mix Luxxury put together back in 2015, which hasn't previously been heard before.

Sometimes composition is a long and arduous process, other times a song arrives fully formed. The latter was the case for Greg when he imagined 'Summer Came My Way' as a vehicle for hitherto unknown vocal forces of nature, The Reynolds - twins Katherine and the song’s lead singer Carmel - who, by beautiful serendipity happened to live within a mile of Greg’s Merseyside home.

Bursting out of LA with a lavish twelve-part re-edit series in 2014, Luxxury’s brand of hazy, slo-mo reworks - a West Coast Balaeric fusion - has catapulted him onto the world stage. Opening his mammoth eight- hour Berghain set in 2013 with Luxxury’s 'Hotel California' rework, Greg helped bring his Los Angeles vibes to wider attention, bolstered by his subsequent support of other reworks; 'Night Fever' and 'Riders On The Storm'.

A victim of his own success, 'Hotel California' gained Luxxury a little too much notoriety and, after a Wall Street Journal interview began circulating, Warner came down on him like a ton of bricks on finding out he’d used The Eagles’ multitracks. All was resolved however and his career has grown from strength to strength since then. The Luxxury approach perfectly fitted Greg’s vision of the song and the result is a glorious nine-minute epic, just in time for the summer. 

Two years on, this ambient mix captures the mood in dying days of summer, placing The Reynolds in a more mellow and ever so slightly melancholic context.

Do It Tonight

It wouldn’t be a proper BBP year without us dropping a new Morlack EP. This time around its all about the big grooves and dancefloor vibes. Across all 5 cuts you will recognize that signature Morlack sound mixed with just as much party flavor that he could get his hands on!

The Pull Up EP makes up the 12th Morlack release on BBP and what a ride it’s been – and Morlack shows no signs of slowing down. He’s a frequent guest in the Katakana Edits series and on his own Funk Blaster label. Always keeping it funky and with a prober doze of breaks and lately shifting into the world of nu-disco.

The title tune Pull Up gives us some of that signature Morlack boogie bass over a sweet disco joint. No Illusions takes it down a notch but slams on a steady disco groove and some party rocking rhymes. One Dutch take it back to the funk and some proper big 70s style grooves, while Manteca takes us on a ride with some Latin grooves and Spanish vocals. Last but not least Morlack leaves us begging for more with the hyper groovy Bush Beats featuring more boogie bass and party rapping. 

As we continue to maintaining our focus on the breaks we love to journey into different styles and the disco genre is one that is always dear to us. So, expect much from us along these lines in the near future.   <br />Delivered using <a href='https://www.promo-cloud.com'>Promo-Cloud.com </a>

Hifi Sean - Love Is On The House

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Spincat Music, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Discography Lessons, Spa In Disco, Duchesse and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at Wilderness, Secret Garden Party, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 12-hour set.

Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
