This week's guest is Errol Russell, a veteran DJ who has been spinning beats since 1994. He has excellent taste in music as well as exploring multiple genres and crossover styles. His set for this week's show will be mainly soulful house, with influences of disco, gospel and funk.

** ERROL RUSSELL BIO **
It all started for Errol in 1992, when he created the legendary Club Kinetic, a weekly club night, in a multi arena venue, serving the very best in hardcore, jungle and techno. Errol was able to experiment and showcase the very best DJs, MCs and PAs of the day. That same year, he was instrumental in the creation of Quest, another weekly club night in Wolverhampton providing the very best of jungle techno. In 1994, Errol turned his hand to DJing and was soon playing extensively throughout the Midlands. 

Errol secured a number of residencies over the years, and played at numerous bars and clubs in Brighton and Swansea, playing alongside such artists asTony DeVit (R.I.P), Fabio, Allister Whitehead,  Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Foncett, Jon Da Silva, Graeme Park and Carl Cox. 

Errol then called time on his DJing and took a 15 year hiatus, until March 2020, when the UK went into its first national lockdown in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The advice was stay at home, so he dusted off his Technic 1210s and realised he had so missed playing music.

In November 2020, lockdownfm.live (LDFM) an internet based radio show, invited Errol to livestream as part of their House Sessions crew, where he continues to play regularly with an accomplished crew of DJs.

In April 2022, he curated his first show ‘FUNKADELIC SESSIONS’ on LDFM and showcased House Legend DJ Romain. This collaboration opened many doors and led to an invite from SoulfulHouseDJs, where Errol performed his first ever Mixcloud live set to wide acclaim. Hot on the heels of this, came an invite from Brixton Jamm. Errol has now teamed up with 4TheMusic (4TM) and has recently been approached by ChoiceFMUK. .

You can also catch Errol at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in October, later this year.

Errol describes his musical style, as a subtle blend of Soulful, Funky, Jackin, Tribal, Deep, Tech House and Nu Disco, interlaced with American Soul, Funk, Disco & Gospel influences. Errol loves happy, inspirational and uplifting music and that is what he delivers whenever he plays.

Episode 107: Feel Good Friday Radio Show (feat Errol Russell)

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Spa In Disco and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at festivals, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 8-hour set.


Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
