It was an absolute joy to share to share the decks, and a few beers, while covering some serious musical ground across the 2 hours .... we spun a completely off the cuff mix of stuff that we'd like to hear in a dark, sweaty, club... quirky electro disco, uplifting house, afrobeat, soulful house, nu-disco, 90s progressive classics and more! My co-host Greg was back in the driving seat for his monthly outing on the show, and he used the first hour of the show to showcase some of his favourite new jams around at the moment, plus one or two older goodies he found while digging around his digital crates.

In hour two, he welcomed his special guests and good friends James Caldecott and John Orton aka Late Night Disco. Their mix was recorded live at the highly regarded The Disco Express night at 25 Paul St, London - loads of feel-good jams, original disco and rare groove, a few reworks and an amusing amount of early Wham (which I'm told is due to John recently watching the Wham doc on Netflix)! :)

Co-host @wahine_dj returns for her monthly mix with special guest, Sydney-born, Amsterdam-based @shadylady_bec who she was introduced to online via a mutual friend who likes to sprinkle fairy dust and support female DJs in times of need (i.e. the covid lockdown period). Since lockdown restrictions have been lifted, Wahine has watched her talented friend spread her wings, playing ever-increasing clubs, stages, and festivals, while staying true to what moves her musically.

If you haven’t checked out this show before, it’s all about the underground vibes… music with emotion, energy and drive… criss-crossing the boundaries of proper house music, off the beaten track disco, global grooves and more … all selected to transport you to a dark sweaty club just like it used to be way back when 🎵😅🕺🏾

I kicked the show off with an hour of goodies dug from my vinyl and digital crates, including something beautifully leftfield from DJ Emma, a Janet Jackson dub from the legends Frankie and David, another wicked edit from Young Pulse, a late 90s garage cut from the Grant Nelson stable and loads more.

Then in part two, I handed over the controls to my good pal Faz (@stevefarrell) who has delivered a superb guest mix. This might be at a higher tempo from what we normally get from the Midnight Riot DJ, but still contains loads of uplifting jazzy disco goodness and includes several brand new promos that you will want to feast your ears on! BIO:
Scott Diaz has ploughed a wide and all encompassing path during his 15 years as a DJ and artist, playing and producing right across the spectrum of house. His influences range from jack-injected Chicago grooves and the UK bass movement right through to jazzy and funky deep cuts and mid-90's US Garage, taking in all that's great about house music.

Studio success is fundamental to Scott, but the true test of a DJ remains in the clubs. In the UK, London, Brighton, Sheffield, Bristol and everywhere in between has experienced the Scott Diaz vibe and in that same spirit he's been rinsing his passport over the last few years too, playing in Ibiza, Cancun, Switzerland and Amsterdam and more, as well as Russia and all over the USA.

DJ Roan Soulful House 95 SOH Radio FM 12-12-20

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Spincat Music, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Discography Lessons, Spa In Disco, Duchesse and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at Wilderness, Secret Garden Party, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 12-hour set.

Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
