This week's installment of Spin City that aired  on myhouseradio.fm saw me team up with our friend, DJ/Producer, blogger, and label boss, Ken Avalon AKA Discoholic Ken ( https://soundcloud.com/discoholicsanonymous )founder of DiscoholicsAnonymous.com. The blog features interviews with industry leading profiles and labels, and exclusive content. Discocholics Anonymous Recordings is an off-shoot of the Discoholics blog with a firm focus on Disco, Re-edits, Nu-Disco and Balearic/Downtempo. Discoholics Anonymous Recordings past releases include works by artists Drop Out Orchestra, Monsieur Van Pratt, Dexter Jones, Sauco, and many more.

I kicked things off for the first hour with a set packed full of new and old disco treats, before handing over to Ken to close in amazing fashion. This set has Ken written all over it, as he plays music that has influenced his career so far.

RJ Nu-Disco & Edits Mix November 2020

If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
