I came up with a track that includes a helicopter sound in it--what sample do you think came first to my mind?  

(Poor, poor Icarus.)  

I did not start with that idea.  I actually sounded with the cheesy synth-brass sound.  I think I was thinking of those times when OMD would throw in some latin/caribbean sounds onto their post-punk synthpop.  (A couple songs off of "Junk Culture" come to mind.)  

The next puzzle piece to fall into place is the retro soul vocal--it's a shouter, and it isn't THAT important WHAT he's singing.  (Though, I know what he's singing...and I have narrative that explains the connection between the singing sample and the snippets that I've worked in...)  

Then, things took a dark turn.  I can't remember exactly what came first--the movie snippets or the various bass parts.  

Once again, Interbay has come up wtih a song that is one part happy, one part silly, one part dark.  

In other words--Interbay has come up with an Interbay song.  

I had a couple of choices for what to drop today--and I went back and forth and forth (there were three options--so, instead of "couple" I should have said "few".  "I had a few of choices"--no, that doesn't work, does it?)  before finally finding THIS choice a more enjoyable experience.  

(And, after the results of last night's sportsball--me and the people around me could USE a more enjoyable experience today.  On the other hand, after the results of last night's OTHER sportsball, since we're happy about THAT...this track has got happy vibes in it (as long as you enjoyed the movie that's been snipped.)    

I wouldn't call this the start of Spooky Week--though, it was a scary scene in an action movie that's getting snipped--but I can feel those vibes starting to seep in...
