(As I predicted, the minute I said that I was proud of the song I dropped yesterday ("Qurious"), I'd condemned it to lower than average listens and likes...  It deserves better--so, if you haven't checked it out yet, please...when you're done listening to THIS track and liking it, check out YESTERDAY'S track too!  Your extra effort is appreciated.)  

There's been a lot of electronic dance music escaping Phantom Laboratories West and finding their way onto SoundCloud as Interbay tracks--not a lot of the post-punk stuff that is DEFINITELY an important part of the story and sound of Interbay.  

Today, though...you're getting one--full of guitars, tom tom heavy beats, and still with plenty of synths to keep the main "Electronic" tag accurate.    

The name of the track is ironic--and it probably deserves to be "Timidity (Risk vs Reward)" or even "Risk vs Reward (Timidity)"--but the temporary file name for this track was "Timidity" and I think that's a cool name for a hard rocking but still danceable track.  

In order to earn yourself a reward, you'll have to accept some risk.  You may fail.  You may lose.  But, there's a chance you won't--there's a chance you'll win.  In fact, the only chance you have to win is to risk failing and losing.  

Easy, when you have a lot to lose.  You can shrug off a lost as the cost of doing business.  But, when you don't have a lot...can you really afford to risk losing what little you have?  And yet...you have to, if you want to have any chance to improve your situation.  

I'm at the age now where I have to convince my brain that something is better than nothing, that there is no straw that will break the camel's back...there's just the chances you'll HAVE to take, to keep yourself alive.  

Doesn't make it easier, just because it is necessary.  

In this way, I think the lyrics match the tension and the energy found in this track.  It works for me, I hope it does for you, too!  

(But, I have learned my lesson.  I won't dare say that I'm proud of my "Timidity."  That's a risk I simply can't afford to take.)
