Maestros Ryan & Mike have devised this ace duo known as ‘Cat Town’ who  showcase some of the illest music that has been brought to our ears.(courtesy of their YouTube channel) Surrounded by all the rich musical history and talent Detroit has to offer, it's what makes this mix all the more special.

The pair's doing splendid things for their local music scene. Respectively, operating a record label, to co-productions, to occasional parties in Detroit feat. the likes of Who Dat, Modern Art, Mark Grusane, and Dez Andres (all project links underneath) 

Definitely look into Mike’s Sector 7G record label, and Ryan’s ‘Symptoms of Love’ project co produced with Ben.C. 

The selection in question though, resonates with us wholly, and will be cherished for a while to come. We hope this mix can help recalibrate your mind/body/soul ;-)

Influences:  My biggest influence is undoubtedly the friends and musical peers that I share artistic connection with. Whether it's through organizing events, mixing together at an afters, or sending music across the void - the people who I am emotionally connected to and enjoy chatting about music/art/life with are certainly the most influential in my musical world.

More abstractly I am influenced by narrative in DJ sets. I am compelled by Djs who have the ability to transport me into their unique world. I've experienced this transcendence on the dance floor during sets like Eris Drew at TUF til' dawn in 2018 and Powder closing at Sustain Release. I would, however, say that the DJ does not stand alone in creating this transcendent experience. As an organizer I am keenly aware of the confluence of people, place, and DJ as the trifecta that must act in harmony to create the most special and transformative experiences. Dance music is such an uniquely immersive type of music and that quality creates a situation where the sum is certainly greater than the parts if it's done with intention and care.   

Affiliations/Residencies/Projects: Secondnature ~ a label and underground event series. Formerly a member of TUF. I used to go by Aos and also am 1/2 of the project Sage. 

Favorite Quote:  Ok I would say I do not have a favorite quote. But I have a favorite poem by Rumi that me and a bunch of pals have memorized and say aloud together as a toast sometimes...

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community: Seek joy and genuine connection through music. Dj the music you love. Technical skills come with time and are secondary to selection and expression of self, so don't fixate too much on mistakes. Uplifting your peers and supporting each other is one of the most meaningful parts of artistic community - if you have resources (and especially privilege) be open to sharings your knowledge and skills.

With a penchant for off-kilter drum and bass, bass, dub and dubstep, sina meticulously curates sets that mix and match elements of atmospheric trip hop, murky post-DnB and the mischievous 2-step sounds of the 90/00s. Witnessing sina grace the decks at Inward Goods festival was a nostalgic luxury - I felt like I’d stepped into some form of magical Y2k swamp party, where only the best of early 2000s drum and bass were being thrown down. Sina’s contributions to the community extend beyond the decks and into the realm of party planning and label curation (Secret World) whilst also forming ⅓ of the band dregs. @priori-ties is an alias of Montréal-based Québecois musician, Francis Latreille. In 2019, he released the thematic full length ‘On A Nimbus’ for his own label NAFF (which he runs with Ex-Terrestrial), showcasing the breadth and scope of his production. The more recent ‘SCN’ EP released on Canadian label DustWORLD, further strengthened his sound and showed the hypnotic potential of his music. Since then, he has kept exploring different avenues, releasing the uplifting trance single ‘Infinity’ and a series of thrillingly rugged tracks under his RED alias. 

Since its inception in 2018, NAFF's uncompromising releases have shown Latreille’s eccentrically-tuned ear for curation – this managed to land them in Mixmag's Best Labels of 2018 list. The young label shows no signs of stopping, having recently released a string of refreshing records by fellow Canadian artists Ambien Baby, URA & Maara. 

Known to be an avid collaborator, Latreille is involved in a number of projects including Jump Source, M.S.L., New World Science, Healion, ANF and more. His knack for textural sounds and his technical proficiency in the studio have led him to work on numerous projects by fellow artists (Ex-Terrestrial, Roza Terenzi, D. Tiffany, Escape Artist, Gene Tellem, to name a few). Whether live or as a DJ, Priori brings a uniquely hypnotic sound that sustains a dance floor while creating an atmosphere informed by the worlds of science fiction and fantasy that are so dear to him.

Handing it over to the mind behind London's Unbound Events, a fantastic underground community celebrating a diverse range of UK club sounds, regularly seen hosting legendary cutting edge figures the likes of Skee Mask, SHYBOI, Peverelist and Afrodeustche alongside an array of talented emerging heads operating in and around local UK electronic music scenes.

DJ Winggold aka Charles Olisanekwu's forward thinking mindset is perpetually on display throughout his multitude of creative pursuits, and as a DJ it's his dynamic three deck mixing style fusing Afrofuturist techno and Drexciyan electro that persistently builds to dizzying effect, deftly guiding us deep below the murky surface and into a subterranean sci-fi thriller with a heavy UK twist!

Low Flung ( @lowflung ) is the long-standing project of Sydney based visual artist Danny Wild. Danny has been present in the East coast underground scene for quite some time now, having cemented his place with an incredibly diverse musical outputs, from ambient and dub to tech house.

"Equally influenced by dub’s sense of space and the rolling expanse of the Australian landscape, Danny fuses field recordings and organic instruments with synthesized soundscapes and buoyant digi basslines to create music that offers an uncanny evocation of place and a keen spatial awareness." - Hani Hanbali

Rotations 22: al dente

'tis not everyone's favorite season of the year, but definitely the last mix of the decade. What better way to end it than let the high priest of Synth-Pop (Episcopal Minister John Zahl) read us the mass. John has prepared almost 5 hours of musical cleansing (recorded live et at Public Records on Oct 26, '19), which hopefully should be enough to wash you free from your sins of the last 10 years. Amen

To celebrate our collaboration with Henry Jones (Smiling C / Further Steps) we joined forces on a mix that explores our shared interests in off-beat drum machine soul, instrumental g-funk, vernacular house, balearic IDM, and weird wave. Melodious Signals is the inaugural trip in a planned series of voyages down these outlying pathways. We couldn't be happier about working with Henry, and we're cooking up a lot of projects together that we can't wait to share.
