Je t'Aime À Mourir -  Bilingual Dylan Cover - (I Want You)

Released by the Eagles in 1977 it took them 8 months and 33 edits to complete the song. In this version I eliminated the guitar solo at the end  and took some vocal liberties in the out-tro to give this all time classic song my own personal interpretation.

It was a no brainer for me to include this classic song on my cover album. Made famous by Marvin Gaye and CCR. The song’s “hook” has always taken up a little space in the song memories floating around in my brain. Hope you enjoy.

One of my heroes has always been Johnny Cash and I wanted to include one of his songs on my cover album. I originally was going to record his version of Depeche Mode’s song “Personal Jesus”. After going through the amazing list of over 1500  songs that Johnny Cash wrote I came across this gem that he recorded in 1974. My immediate reaction was “BINGO” -  this is the song that does it for me. He was clearly a man ahead of his time. To date, he has sold over 90 million songs.
RIP Johnny Cash.

Don't Go Near The Water - Johnny Cash Cover

I couldn’t resist putting this song on my cover album.
When I saw Elvis perform in 1956 on a black and white TV I was 12 years old. Needless to say, that experience left an indelible mark on my soul, my mind, my heart and my love of music.  Elvis was truly the first performer to challenge social mores and bring on the Rock ’n Roll Revolution.

Blue Suede Shoes - Cover

It’s hard to believe that this song written by Paul Simon in 1964 is over half a century old. Like a true work of art, it has withstood the test of time. An interesting anecdote Simon wrote this song in his bathroom where his guitar would have an “echo” effect.

The Sound Of Silence - Cover

Bio
In 2007 at age 63 Montrealer Peter Wheeler bought his first guitar. He then went to amazon.com and purchased a book called “How To Play The Guitar for Dummies”. Since then he hasn’t looked back. 

Sometimes serious - sometimes humorous Wheeler’s music seeks to re-capture the Classic Vibes  from the 70’s & 80’s. To best describe his music imagine Bob Dylan & The Doors meet The Clash & Leonard Cohen at the Hotel California & share a bottle of wine with Tarantino. Peter Wheeler is a poet - focusing all his energies into creating musical canvases to express his personal vision of the world surrounding him. 

For several years Peter was part of the local bar scene in the Greater Montreal area.  He performed as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for The Rock Roulette Band. His experiences giving live performances and continually improving his guitar playing has truly shown that you can teach an old dog new tricks.
