Every culture has its’ heros and no matter what our nationality we identify with them as human beings. My English  heros include Sir Winston Churchill, William Shakespeare, Issac Newton and John Lennon. This Beatle changed my life. Through his music, poetry and Performance Art Events he touched my heart, my soul and changed my perspective of the world surrounding me. 

When Working Class Hero was released in 1970 I was in total shock. It was the first time that I ever heard the “f” word in a song. Another example of how John Lennon and The Beatles changed music forever.

What does a parent, or grandparents say or sing to their children, or grandchildren if any kind of armageddon is here? And how many times have these sentiments been sung, historically and in the present.

Is it comfort..... loss and sadness........ anger....... or does it just describe an endless emptiness, over humanity's inability......

This song flowed out of me at the end of corona pandemic, and then went into hibernation, for some reason. And I apologize, I didn't even write down the lyric, it just came in a moment of inspiration, or was it despair?...... But I think you understand the spirit of the song anyway.

And maybe it is now relevant again with new possible diseases spreading. Bird flu, foot and mouth disease in cattle, measles, ebola, and all the microplastics and other toxic components they now acknowledge are in our food and our bodies, and even in the unborn.....and so many more in different parts of the world.........Hmmmmm........

Contours and Detours is my take on Gershwin's Rhythm changes with my own harmonic substitutions throughout. Written in B-flat Major with a Key change in the bridge.

"Carpe Diem" est une chanson qui célèbre l’amour, qu’il soit pour soi ou pour l’autre, tout en rappelant l’importance de la gratitude face aux épreuves de la vie. Portant un message universel, elle invite à apprécier chaque instant et à vivre selon ses désirs, loin des regrets et des jugements. Face aux drames du monde, comme la guerre, cette chanson souligne que rien n’est plus précieux que le moment présent.

A Shooting At The Park

I wrote this a couple of days ago and worked on the lyrics a bit then recorded just now on my phone. The starting point was thinking of a Syd Barrett lyric which mirrored Elvis "I don't care if the sun don't shine".

Bio
In 2007 at age 63 Montrealer Peter Wheeler bought his first guitar. He then went to amazon.com and purchased a book called “How To Play The Guitar for Dummies”. Since then he hasn’t looked back. 

Sometimes serious - sometimes humorous Wheeler’s music seeks to re-capture the Classic Vibes  from the 70’s & 80’s. To best describe his music imagine Bob Dylan & The Doors meet The Clash & Leonard Cohen at the Hotel California & share a bottle of wine with Tarantino. Peter Wheeler is a poet - focusing all his energies into creating musical canvases to express his personal vision of the world surrounding him. 

For several years Peter was part of the local bar scene in the Greater Montreal area.  He performed as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for The Rock Roulette Band. His experiences giving live performances and continually improving his guitar playing has truly shown that you can teach an old dog new tricks.
