After years of thumpers and bumpers on labels such as Twirl, Love Child and Instant Replay, the erstwhile Go-Go dancer and Amsterdam club legend Lupe sashays in from the left and slam dunks us with unholy acid house thunderstorms. 'Only Sinners Survive'

His Pets debut is pounding late night tackle that sounds future-proof today but would have fit perfectly at any stage since the acid revolution. The title track is inspired, as is the whole EP, by magical TV drama consumed during lockdown; takes us straight across the leftfield with an electroclash style fusion of juggernaut acid and stark lyricism that reminds us that perfection is a delusion.

Deeper into the night we strut to strike deep mix gold on 'Den Of Iniquity' as a Lupe makes the drums sing in a slamming, Q&A style hook that will fit over any other track and wind the dancers up with its addictive and mischievous mutations. Finally we have 'Binge Dancer'. The biggest slammer of the EP, once again we're sent into a spin with broadsheet acid and the type of rattling, insistent percussion that ensures plenty of bingeing.

Handle with caution. Lupe might drive you loopy.

Casiopepe is the lovechild of two good old friends of Pets and you are welcome to treat yourself to a tasty dish from their recipe book. This is no pasta, mind you, but a zesty mix of Euro-house grooves and addictive hooks, sure to please the synth-loving and the disco-crazed among us.

Although Euphoriac EP is only coming after last year's releases on Jaki Records and Dom Trojga, it actually contains some of Casiopepe's earliest recorded material. Put simply, this is the very music that made everyone around fall in love with the project in the first place, while also winning their pure hardware live show slots at Rex Club and Akasha Festival.

The title track is a masterful statement of purpose, an irresistible piano-led tune that just keeps on building, while Moustache to Moustache displays the duo's love of melody and a knack for quirky drum programming - even more evident in the essential Bonus Beat version. To top things off, disco dons Tiger & Woods deliver an arpeggiated remix of Euphoriac that tones things down a little, while lending it some unmistakable eleganza romana.

@andreaoliva has announced a forthcoming EP ‘Cala Bass’, out 18th March. The techno titan has also unveiled the record’s lead single of the same name, out 4th March.

A heavy-but-enchanting techno joint, ‘Cala Bass’ combines thumping kick drums with slick percussion and hypnotic vocal samples. Oliva has also released the instrumental version of the same track.

The EP release will come amidst a typically hectic touring schedule for Oliva, who is set to perform at an ANTS event at Printworks (12th March), Miami Music Week (23th – 26th March), and Elrow City (15 +16 April) in the coming weeks.

Launched last summer, All I Need is a statement that encapsulates the crucial role that music plays in Andrea’s life - and the lives of music lovers all over the world. It is composed of a music label, events wing and upcoming fashion line, and represents a philosophy, a way of life and the desire to put music and creativity at the centre of his world.

The cutting edge sound of Viennese/Berlin electronica is here! Joyce Muniz is back to tear up your local dancefloor with another two carefully honed grooves, this time pushing herself in perhaps her most techno-focused direction yet.

Rolling tech-leaning percussive provides the backbone of ‘Microdosing’ along with throbbing monotone bass grunts. Subtle melodics work their way into the mix along with stuttered vocals and metallic textures, the snarling, menacing lead arpeggio that is the track’s calling card gradually bubbling to the surface. Muniz’s uncluttered, succinct arrangement lets the track breathe beautifully, with the psychedelic undertones left to subtly permeate just as a microdose of LSD might. An entrancing journey into the psychedelic experience, but not a full trip.

‘Try Me’ ups the intensity with its moment of drama and mind-bending atonal riffs. A stomping beat is laced with a pitch-bending, warped machine groove and chunky bass rumbles away incessantly as the track builds. The dark groove is made wonkier still with an arpeggiated riff whose hollow tone recalls Hot Butter’s infectious ‘Popcorn’, and sensual vocal thrusts add yet more drama. A tense breakdown goes darker still as the vocal unfolds with a little classic house flavour.

Time and time again Muniz has proved herself to be both a masterful musician and highly qualified architect of dancefloor gold. With such an array of styles under her belt, this new release makes for yet another sonic reinvention.
