Originally from NYC, I’m a 37 year old married father of two beautiful girls, I’m now down in music city (coincidentally, I was a musician when I was younger but no longer these days). Nashville is a great city for people passionate about music, it’s been incredible to live here. I’m an annual Bonnaroo attendee, and other fun fests I’ve been to are Coachella, Lollapalooza, ACL, Bonnaroo, EDC, and will be attending Bourbon and Beyond this summer.

I have an extremely eclectic taste in music. My musical journey roughly is as follows:

Dave Matthews Band was my first concert with friends and no parents. From there I got into classic rock and dipped my toes in the jam band scene. I went full send on Phish when I got into them and they were my favorite for years. Through Phish and all of their covers, I got into pretty much everything haha. Indie was a big part of my of life during college and my time living solo in NYC, and now I’m a fan of electronic music primarily.

If I had to state my favorites these days, my top three would be Four Tet, Radiohead, and Frightened Rabbit. My kids already seem to love music, they must take after their father!

Sam Van der Bauwhede, also known as The Devil's Advocate, is a Belgian electronic music producer with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He began his career as a dubstep and drum and bass producer, but has since shifted his focus to creating dark and atmospheric underground techno. With a recognisable sound, The Devil's Advocate produces mainly with outboard gear, experimenting with analog synths and drum machines to create his unique sound. At 32 years old, The Devil's Advocate is a seasoned producer, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of electronic music.

I produce, mix and host a weekly radio program called BEATSCAPE: where creative minds meet up with dancing feet! Every week, I deliver a 3 hours of the hottest new releases. From deep-house to soulful, tech-house to deep-techno, dubstep to 4x4, ambient to IDM, post-dubstep to grime.
Currently broadcasted in France and Switzerland, my purpose is to educate a "mainstream audience" to what I consider to be "quality music", following my only moto: if I like it, I play it!
