Threw this one together pretty quickly, it's mostly me just writing whatever came to mind first, taking some inspiration from FearOfDark and the Mother 3 OST. Could be improved compositionally in a few areas but I'm lazy

Grass is always greener on the other side. This is sort of a homage to Bosa's older stuff at Newgrounds, which had this kind of feel. I listened to a lot of his music when I was younger and wanted to see if I can make something in similar style. Not sure what the genre is (some of his tracks were bluegrass, but none of the other tracks in the category sound like this).

Green Grass

Some even greener grass on the other side. This is made from the same palette as Green Grass - another song with similar style and feel but this one being a bit calmer and quieter. As before, it takes a lot of Bosa's style from the early Newgrounds days plus a bit flare of my own.  No idea what the genre is (I thought it was bluegrass but haven't found any music like this when searching lol), so any input on that is welcome.

Third song in the series of guitar and strings inspired by Bosa's music at Newgrounds (whatever genre that is). The name comes from trying to emulate one of the songs categorized under bluegrass but ending up sounding nothing like other songs we looked up in bluegrass, so we called it green instead. Originally the first two songs were meant to be stems for collabs, but they ended up getting finished before Waterflame got around to them. Third time's the charm!

Advancer

Short orchestral/acoustic track by Waterflame and pftq while experimenting to get closer to a cinematic sound. First half mainly by Waterflame and second half mainly by pftq, along with the string/choir chordwork in general. It ended up sounding a bit like music you'd hear at a fair or amusement park.  Ends a little abruptly because we only had two days to make this before our trip ended! Special thanks to Denny for tips and feedback along the way!

Discovery

I was not ready for this track. I was not ready.

This track was made for the tenth CHIPS competition. CHIPS is a weekly contest in which members anonymously post entries made along a certain theme and vote on other entries. It's a small-scale competition that emphasizes positive feedback and thonking memes. The tenth compo's theme was "Dreams", and I tried to capture that through the sight of a dragon ascending to a floating island.

For real, I started making this thing in full expectations for it to either flop or be very average in quality. But then I kept going... and it was like the track was a train and I had just been hit by it at full speed. And I guess you could say the flight inside of me took me up there.

A journey in the Aeolian mode. It parallels my previous piece Peaks in a number of ways, but also takes its own liberties and style. It also contains a reference to a pretty notable Pokemon Mystery Dungeon theme somewhere in there. Can you feel the water rushing past?

Winner of the Audio Secret Santa competition on chipscompo.com. Made for garlagan, who requested "something kinda repetitive but concise and ambient-ish" that's "less than 4 mins preferably." I focused on texture rather than composition because that seemed to be a key component of the inspirational tracks he provided. (遅れた）メリークリスマス, ガーラガン!

"By Day, By Night (VIP)" is track two of the Sky Wander EP, an electronic-orchestral story-based album conveying the journey of an ether explorer through the clouds.

Serving as a narrative synecdoche of Sky Wander, "By Day, By Night (VIP)" shifts the album into its first distinct well of turmoil. Throughout its seven minute span, our protagonist conquers the looming self doubt permeating his venture's beginnings, and eventually learns to embrace its adrenaline-fueled allure as he soars through the wind-battered sky.
