This song is a title track of my 20th single PLAY LOUDER. The genres are Alternative rock / Lo-Fi / J-ROCK. The moods are Happy / Motivational / Upbeat. The style is Experimental. The category is Happy & Upbeat. I wrote and recorded this alone in my room with a guitar, a synth, a mic and a PC in 2017. Bass by synth. This song was created when I was performing live alone in Nagoya and I decided to release this now to recapture the hungry spirit I had then. Cover art and MV by myself. This features Japanese lyrics, reggae-inspired vocals, Lo-fi and experimental sound design. The composition, the arrangement and the production were heavily influenced by Beck especially ODELAY. This is a remix recording, with added instruments,  of an instrumental I shared some years back.

It was my tribute to Clifford T. Ward (1944-2001), a talented & underrated British singer-songwriter.  He recorded ten plus studio albums but only made the UK singles chart twice with “Gaye” & “Scullery”.   It was said that he would have had more commercial success were it not for his dislike of touring, public appearances, interviews etc.   His songs are on Spotify should anyone is interested.

This is my final entry of the year and will certainly share more music next year.

Part One: The Mysterious Voices
Elora did not believe in magic, but she believed in music. For months, a melody had eluded her. Before her scribbled sheets, she dreamed of a tune that could enchant the valley. But her fingers and her violin offered only silence and frustration.
Exhausted, she escaped into the park’s shaded paths. As she wandered, lost in thought…
Suddenly, in the distance, a murmur. It was neither birdsong nor the whisper of the wind, but a mysterious, bewitching music. A barely perceptible melody rose from beyond the Ancient Hedge, the tangled barrier no one dared to cross. She drew nearer.
The Hedge loomed, towering and dense. Yet at its heart, where the branches twisted into a chaos of knots, an inviting archway opened.
The voices resonated there, clear and powerful. They carried the echo of regret, the promise of joy to come, and the secret of rediscovered peace.
Hesitant and awestruck, Elora stood frozen, timeless, spellbound by what she heard.
When the music faded, freed by the silence, Elora stepped decisively across the threshold.
