Melancholic but heart warming, soft but strong, deeply uplifting, beautiful piece and tribute Michael !

This is a beautiful tribute Michael, tinged with sadness, and the fuller orchestration gives the song even greater depth.  This is a lovely end-of-the-year offering.

I must quickly add that Mr. Ward's songs are charming in every way, and he himself was a lovely human being. I hear his fingerprints on your music here and on your other compositions--always a gentle melodic touch.

sweet sax opening over the piano arpeggios...love the way it anchors with the bass coming in...fleeting moments of mellow lifting us from moods that threaten to take us down.  Love that surge as the the chorus section arrives...spirits surge too. Nice strings in  the middle...and the  steady movement to the end, Wow, Michael!  and angel choirs too! :)

" Praise ye the Lord" is an Air form Georg Friedrich Handel's oratorio "Solomon", written in 1748.
The anonymous libretto is currently thought to have been written by the English Jewish poet/playwright Moses Mendes. It is based on the biblical stories of the wise king Solomon from the First Book of Kings and the Second Book of Chronicles.

This is a remix recording, with added instruments,  of an instrumental I shared some years back.

It was my tribute to Clifford T. Ward (1944-2001), a talented & underrated British singer-songwriter.  He recorded ten plus studio albums but only made the UK singles chart twice with “Gaye” & “Scullery”.   It was said that he would have had more commercial success were it not for his dislike of touring, public appearances, interviews etc.   His songs are on Spotify should anyone is interested.

This is my final entry of the year and will certainly share more music next year.
