Top notch song and very beautiful voice and singing

Magnificent vocals..marvelous harmonization..captivating & mesmerizing..perfectly executed..brilliant effects..sumptuously infectious..excellent mix & recording production!

I generally don't like to compare others music to anything as to come off as limiting...Buuuuut, for the longest time, on certain tracks your voice reminds me a lot of John Linnell from TMBG... which is totally unique and one of my fav bands. I mean that as a compliment.

DEEP DOWN (acoustic piano & vocals)

The October 2022 DIAMC writing prompt was about displacement, taking a character either fictional or real and putting them into an alternative reality. I imagined a world where Little Red was all grown up and off to the bright lights and big city, in search of Mr Wolf.

Demo, recorded in the spare bedroom of our holiday cottage in Ackergill.

NO SURPRISES

Serendipity and the Dog was written whilst Gina was feeling sad one Sunday at the local growers market in Marrickville, Sydney. Sitting, downcast with her coffee, a friendly little dog wandered up to her.... and so the song was inspired.
The serendiptous part is not referenced in the song but it's worth telling - Gina was driving a Toyota Tarago at the time and the front bumper was hanging out and down from an earlier bingle..... A removal truck backed into the Tarago whilst it was parked with Gina sitting inside.... On inspecting the damage she discovered that the truck had pushed the bumper back into place ! :0

Blueprint for track that became 'Sandycove Milk'.

Inspired by wondrous music by Conin, whose track 'Kitty's Wake' reminded of the rich clay of Joyce's 'Finnegan's Wake'. This track, about the opening pages of Joyce's Ulysses, borrows coffee spoons, forever those of T.S. Eliot, in an effort to add sweet milk...drawn from the milk-well of honeyed Sandycove.  The lyric speaker is, notionally, Stephen Daedalus. For practical purposes, the lyric speaker is James Joyce himself. His aim? To hit Haines for a guinea [a pre-decimal unit of currency] before heading to France on a ferry. Whilst Haines still feels guilty (sheepish) about having fired his pistol at an imaginary cat he thought he saw in the fireplace in the Martello tower in Sandycove (now the Joyce Museum....a sacred...magical place, whose attendant Joyce scholars told me about the Haines' imaginary cat episode....it is all true...yet also dovetails eerily with the first chapter of Ulysses).

The reference to Haines having consumed Absinthe is a narrative fiction, invented to offer an explanation for his dangerous behaviour. No peer reviewed evidence capable of demonstrating Absinthe has hallucinogenic properties, exists, to my knowledge.

My apologies for the harsh hitting sounds you will hear in this track...it is however the magical sound of the fanning while playing...my harmonium you see is a most beautiful beast but awfully heavy to hold. I actually held this colossal wooden mass in my lap, on my tippy toes with heels way up high to manage a recording. Hope it sounds okay in the end :)
