I like to think of my music as superhero anthems, soundtracks to the eternal fight between good and evil, dark and light, life and death, love and pain. This is the saga of the human existence, the journey we all navigate.

Why are we here? What does this all mean? I wish I had the answers. For now, I channel my confusion and passions into my music, striving for self realisation and I hope to connect with you on this quest.

Unlike his music up and coming talent Sook is composed of 61% oxygen, 
18% carbon and 10% Hydrogen. The elements which make up his body were 
formed billions of years ago in a star and are certainly much older than he 
or dubstep is.

Of the remaining 11% of his composition by mass less than 0.01% is Selenium. 
Although having absolutely nothing to do with his bass driven beats, like all multicellular Eukaryotic life forms this 
element is required in trace amounts for Sook’s cellular function and mediate 
the effects of specific cellular responses.

After four years in hibernation, Brisbane’s finest purveyors of heavyweight broken-beat badassery are back in business.

Silent Shadow is the brainchild of Brisbane based producer and multi-instrumentalist Cameron Swales, who’s also worked as Reactor and part of the now-defunct PCD. They smashed their way into the Brisbane clubbing consciousness in March 2007 and remained the only live drum’n’bass show in town until April 2010, when band members followed the call of career opportunities in Sydney and LA. After submitting a pair of tracks to the BNE compilation of Brisbane independent electronica in late 2013, the fires were stoked for Silent Shadow’s 2014 return.

The Silent Shadow sound draws influence from such slamming drum'n'bass acts as Noisia and Concord Dawn, fusing that sound with elements of glitch-hop, breaks, rock, progressive and trance influences. It’s a raw and brutal approach which truly comes to life in the live environment.

Running the show on a set-up of laptop, synth and six-string bass, Cameron is joined on stage by drumming brother Kris, himself a house music producer with Skins and formerly the driving force behind genre-smashing live act D-Ko. Past members of the live ensemble include hype man Justin Parris (aka JP) on the mic, while Dave Dri of progressive tech production unit Segue was also known to bring his arsenal of synths, samplers and bass faces on stage. 

Silent Shadow have rocked dancefloors at events like the massive Parklife festival, DnBBQ (in Sydney and Byron Bay), Junglettes, Rukus, Phat Albeats and Roll Deeper, racking up support slots for Concord Dawn, Spor & Ewun, Benga & Skream and Black Sun Empire the way. A collaboration with Brisbane d’n’b maestro Operon produced Science, an early morning atmospheric gem picked up for release by German label Camino Blue Recordings in 2010.


First and foremost, I am a fan, unashamedly, of great music with no real genre bias.I believe there are only 2 kinds - good music, and bad music.Of course, this is subject to taste - mine are massively eclectic.
I've never been in any way a sycophant or crap like that, however - as music has been the single lifelong passion of mine which never faltered, i am open and genuine.If i say 'that's fuckin great' i mean it.
I did time working for a couple of labels in sydney, australia, before doing the tree-change thing and moving to a pretty magical mountain community that pretty much no one has heard of - it was here, seeing the massive potential of my home as a truly unique, safe, and beautiful venue unlike any other, I began to work toward a very special, very niche, love-not-money-orientated gathering with limited and pretty much invite only attendees.
Though this dream started as my own, it has spread and found collaborators beyond expectations.Here is a place where people who make art can create permanent, long term installations, knowing that they will be kept safe because of a permanent community in residence - and - projects which take multiple years to complete can be collaborated on.
It is our sincere intent to not only give back to our own community, art, music, and love energy, but to create on an ongoing basis, a venue constantly improved by collective effort as well as cash input via grants and ticket sales, and more so, a place where our guests and friends will feel at home completely, because they have had direct energy input into the space.

Decided, for no reason other than to show a mate.. to upload a bunch of my own, totally unfinished tunes from the last decade.  These are crap, and i know it :)  

I had no concept of EQ whatsoever, and thought it was a great idea to just stack 6 kickdrums on top of each other.  With who i've met since, well, wish i'd had your shoulder to look over back then in my mountain shack, hehe.

Someday, might work on some of these more.  

FLStudio - various versions from 1.6 to about 7. Hobbyist, i write these for no one but my own expression and in some cases.. blatant attempts to see if i could work out how a style was constructed.. as said, mostly had no one to watch in action (shubby was an exception in a few cases, cheers mate!)

Born and raised in Southern California, E. has been producing under the alias Bakteria for quite some time.
