Composed in 2017.

Remastered in April 2025.

The people I follow know that sooner or later I'll visit their SC page to listen to their compositions. It's a ritual I do 4-5 times a year. And when I say listen... I mean really listen.

I do it because I like certain styles. Other times it's the technique. Other times it's the composition. Other times... simply to learn.
The truth is that music, as an element of communication, tells me a lot about the creator's intention, how it interprets certain themes, and even conveys a certain profile of the composer himself.

It's hard to explain, but it's as I say.

This composition is introspective and brings together some of my favorite styles, such as melodic, rock, and electronic.

I named it this because it corresponds to a period when my listening became more pronounced and I didn't have anyone to listen to me at the time.

It's certainly a strange composition, especially because of certain percussion sections (understood as self-criticism).

I will be grateful for your comments, as always.

Jeff and I are happy to present our first live arena gig! Not really, but you can imagine.  This one started when Jeff was telling me about how he and Jo (sonic structures and silent stretches ) were writing some of their poetry in a stream off consciousness style, writing a line and then handing it off back and forth until it was done.   I suggested maybe we try something like that with the guitars.   So we did.  We exchanged ideas until it felt done and here's where we landed.   
This one was a lot of fun to pull together and really just kind of not think about it as we wrote.

This song began its life in Poland, where our resident surf rock specialist, Artur, composed it on his giutar. He is a brilliant composer and expert player, so we're always glad to receive music from him.

Artur gave it to JJ to start the project, so JJ was first to the trough here, adding his breathy, moving organ and envelope synth throughout. Ken came along shorly after to give the song its heartbeat, adding his triumphant drums. As soon as he had a beat to play to, Josh added his four string fretless bass to the mix, completing the rhythm section.

Now it was the other guitarists turn to take a whack at it. Tez was first up, adding the magical the first and third solos, in the verse sections. He also lit up the intro and outro sections with some dynamic guitar solos, as well. Stephen went last, filling in the second and fourth solo sections in the choruses, as well as a textural guitar that you hear through most of the song. He also added the exotic sitar you hear in about the middle.

Once we had it in the bag, we asked Stephen to produce it for us, which he did in his always trained, professional manner.

This is the eighth song we've done with Artur over the past about year and a half. We adore his music and him as a person, too. If you dig this song, you should hop over to his page and have a listen in case you're not already familiar. He loves surf music, and wanted to note the passing of surf rock legend, Brian Wilson this week. Wilson was more than just Pet Sounds, although that album is top class. He was a surf rock pioneer, who influenced a whole genre of music; a genre that's near and dear to Artur's heart.

We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.

I work in different styles, as the inspiration, dreams or bubonic plagiarism comes! I use Logic Pro X on Mac.
 
I write, produce and play all my own stuff (unless otherwise stated), play vintage Tokai Strats mainly, PRS Torero, Steinberger, Gretsch G2627T, Classical, Fender Dreadnought, Yamaha and Rickenbacker basses, keyboards and sax. I use Native Instrument's Komplete, Omnisphere 2 and my own organic samples.

I mix on Sennheiser HD 280 Pro's and HD 650's (closed and open headphones) when not making a bigger noise through my Yamaha HS8 studio monitors. I use Focusrite Clarett 2Pre ThunderBolt and Apogee audio interfaces, Neumann & iSK condenser & AKG dynamic mics. 

Hardware: Feb 1978 Marshall JMP 50W Combo, BOO & BOSS stomps

I love collaborating with other musicians and will compose with, play guitar for, produce, arrange, master or even just hum along with other SC musicians. Please ask!
