Be All And End All

'Fragments Of Time', written and produced by Editor Cole, from an album I'm currently working on titled 'Landing Party'. This is the first track I wrote for the album, a few months back. Consisting of 10 tracks, it will be an electronic album, mostly ambient and dark ambient, atmospheric, sometimes hypnotic, and cinematic in parts. I've started to mix this with Dolby Atmos, but it's not finished yet, this is the first edit. As ever, best to listen with headphones, or through good monitors.

I will release the album in Spring 2022.

Hoping For A Good Day

After a long time I come back with something controversial, so you should sit down before reading and listening further. I have created something very different inspired by the Ukraine-war. I needed a song to channel my aggression and this is the result. So I have recorded a Metal-HipHop crossover-track inspired by Public Enemy, who did the same on their legendary "It takes a million to hold us back"-album.
I have used this song to test also some new production-methods for my project "Heartscore". 

I grab my sniper-rifle and travel to Moscow

I’m sitting on the table with my family, 
Surrounded by hot coffee and calamities
It’s Sunday morning soon we will go to the park
But first my television will enlighten the dark
 
I wonder what I see feeling totally ashamed
An uneducated child is fucking the whole world
They try to negotiate, but I know that they will fail
Brutality is sometimes needed outside the jail

Somebody must take action to educate the child
Before it will destroy the toys and we are in the wild
If nobody stands up from his comfortable chair
The little monster dares what nobody has dared

It can not play so properly, because of the past
When he was left alone and he was really the last

From the deep hell the child has climbed to the top of the roof

He is putting on much Botox to cover the grief of a dwarv

The Assignment: Use probability to remove material from a track.

I made a 3 track piece specifically for this idea instead of using something I already had because I figured it should be done with tracks that always have something happening so the silence is more noticeable/dramatic.  I think the moments where everything cuts out are the most dramatic.  Silence is sort of the 4th track in that sense (or what ever is going on around you when listening).  The piece itself used a fair bit of aleatory.  "Dr Chaos" is a max for live instrument I used with the drum kit.  It plays random samples at a regular beat division (1/8th, 1/16th, etc.). The 2 other tracks are just moving through different interval cycles (minor 3rds and perfect 4ths) at different paces so they create different unpredictable harmonies.  I used Random.org to decide where to cut and how long the cut should be (1-8 beats).  I figured cutting on beats instead of seconds would give the breaks a rhythmic quality.

I use digital software, guitar and keyboards to produce my music. My music is completely original and I compose and edit using Logic Pro. i'm not exactly a great singer, as you'll see from my vocal tracks, so other people's vocals or collaborative vocals for any track are very welcome. I am very happy to collaborate - as long as it's a balanced collaboration!

I have always loved music. I learnt piano as a child and have dabbled with guitar without ever learning it ... until now! I have been in choirs most of my life but have not really delved into making music until the last few years. After initially playing around with Garage Band, I moved on to Logic Pro and that's how nearly all of my music has been produced. I love the interaction on Soundcloud and the comments from other musicians and composers are so helpful and supportive. Keep making music everyone!
