PHONIC AESTHETIC Pieter Desmet °1972 Tom Himpe °1973 started out as a fun way of creating our own dance-music, but expanded. Together with fast-evolving musicstyles that invaded clubs in the eighties - that were usually underground en club-specific - , new creative possibilities were discovered. What used to be underground and not-understood by many soon became mainstream. This added new influences like New Beat, Trance, Rave, Acid, house,... and lets not forget Pop, "Alternative" Rock and Metal ; because eventually anything you hear influences you. Fast-paced innovation such as computers, midi, synths helped to create more complex arranged songs, being only a band of 2. Only having had a few stage experiences, we feel ready to get the pressure off your mind by taking you into a journey of electronic phonics

Born on 26th of february 1979 near Ghent, Belgium. Started listening to Nirvana, Led Zeppelin but also Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers & Aphex Twin when I was a young boy. Bought myself a guitar at the age of 14. Started playing guitar and drums in some rock bands but when I bought myself an IMac and a sampler -AKAI S2000- I really got into music production big time! From than on, I just made music, loads of music. Even today I don't know which genre I like the most. Rock, techno or drum & bass: I simply love music, all kinds of. I could not live without it, because music is my life.

Today, I'm focusing more on nice melodies and harshly grooves. Maybe one of these days all those influences will come together in a more coherent approach. We'll see.
