Love Injection is proud to present special guest Tony Troffa 

 Tony has been selecting and collecting vinyl since 1989.​ From a young age he gravitated toward rap and dance music. While consistently gigging and building his vinyl collection throughout the 90’s, he frequently traveled throughout New York and out of state, rummaging through thrift shops, garage sales, and dirt piles to uncover the gems of the past that were used as samples in many of the records that he admired.​ He was greatly inspired and drawn into the world of rare grooves, spanning a range of genres such as disco, jazz, soul, Latin and African. He really enjoys sharing beautiful and eclectic music that is not widely known but worthy of high praise, and at times he makes available his personal edits for release on his co-owned label, Made in NY Records.

Brian Not Brian is a man of many stories, I enjoy someone with many stories. In the short time I've been in his presence I have been given countless facts, stories and been spread a wide variety of the musical encyclopedia to which of chapter's I didn't even know existed. Brian is a man who lives and breaths this industry, from digging in the furthest crates in the vast corners of the world reissuing never before seen or forgotten gems on his Midnight Drive, or more noticeably to finding some of the most interesting new talents coming up via Going Good. 
On top of all this he's an excellent DJ, a skill which has seen him play worldwide alongside underground greats like DJ Sotofett and Hashman Deejay to name a few. For his Off The Record Brian brings us on deep dive of various club sounds in house, disco and more. So get your pint of Guinness and have a quick once over of the chat we had with the man emself here:

marco from MLiR recently paid us a visit in naarm, the land of oz ~ while he was here, he realised that one of his gigs was vinyl-only, and he was traveling light with only usbs ~ he asked his good friend jamie (me) if he could raid the sounds good records cache as well as my record bag, to see if he could find some worthy dance-music records to bring to his set from midnight - 3am

here is the end result! a very creative mix using only 12" vinyl records from jamie the scorpio's collection & sounds good records shop stock

In a highly saturated market there is a lot to be said for record labels who trawl the earth to revitalize music which was perhaps thought lost to the depths of Discogs and glory seekers the world over. Isle Of Jura issued a statement of intent when they announced their debut release in the early months of last year. Their first release came in the form of a reissue of a highly sought after disco record from the 1980's, Escape From New York's "Fire In My Heart". An out of reach record was made attainable once again and the demand rocketed.

The label then went on to re-release a balearic masterclass in the form of Chayell's "It's Never Too Hot". 

What lies ahead for the label in 2017 is a mystery, but expect the unexpected. We spoke to the label founder Kevin Griffiths as he delivers a flavour of the label.
