Phonix Records is proud to present a one of a kind EP from amigos Ionkhe (Ivan Lugo/Mexico) and Space Ape (Robin Levin/ Sweden).  Years in the making, surviving multiple hardware failures, cross-Atlantic transmissions and numerous dimension jumps - these two talented beat hackers were able to document their crazy sonic adventures to deliver the story of the “Space Weirdos”.

The release starts with the playful, mischievous tune - documenting an evening with their kitty companion Michael Wazowski. Things were going well.. until things got strange, looney and reality began to distort. All the duo can recall is Michael Wazowski asking them about who put the “Catnip in my Nips”. 

As the fog of confusion cleared, the Weirdos found themselves questioning their reality. Soon they were only communicating to each other through fractal patterns and geometry. And then as the light of reason became clear - they figured it out - it had something to do with the “Pyramids”. A hefty tune full of inky goodness, creepy vibes and fat grooves.

And the final chapter of the story begins. Comprehension becoming clear, mind games subside and the ultimate realization of a shared journey of EPIC proportions is perfectly expressed in the form of the looney and delicious - “Mamma Mia”. A fast paced looney track, a mechanical opera and fitting an end to the story of the Space Weirdos.

In 2010, Paulo Etnarama was inspired to support fresh up and coming psytrance producers acts in twilight psytrance, and thus Phonix Records was born in London. Later that year he found his partner in crime - Ishikawa, a fellow traveler in the cosmos who shared the same vision. Together they worked tirelessly with the aim of providing sonic scientists and wizards the means to be heard by audiences galaxy wide.

Fast-forward 3 years to 2013, Etnarama goes on sabbatical and Ishikawa takes the reigns to manage the label. Since then - Phonix Records has now branched from its home in the UK with representation across USA, Portugal, and South Africa. Over 15 years and over 50 releases, they have released fresh releases featuring all the flavors of the twilight spectrum. Today they proudly support an ever-growing roster of new and established producers from across the globe including France, South Africa, Mexico, Portugal and Canada.

Focusing completely on the music for the twilight hours, Phonix Records has constantly been pushing to release nothing but the very best in super powered, hyper charged, 100% unadulterated twilight psytrance! They strive to leave their mark on the psytrance scene as a serious label known to support the music they love.
